I had the same thing; asked my internist about it, he examined it and said that there should be no cause for alarm UNLESS I've noticed painful or delayed urination/ejaculation.

Did some research myself and find that he's correct. Sometimes the tubes from the testicle to the seminal vesticle swell, because of intake to the body or crossing your legs too much, or when you've been biking often.

I recently had surgery to remove a harmless cyst from a testicle - not because me or my urologist thought it was potentially a tumor, but because we agreed that eventually it might grow to conceal a potential tumor.

An ultrasound scan can confirm of the bump you feel is solid matter or filled with liquid and doesn't require surgery, this is what I would recommend you have done. It is quick and painless, just hope they warm up the jelly before they slather it on you! ( I used to have one done every year just to make sure there were no changes beneath the cyst - until I decided to just get it removed )

So: You can beleive him most likely, doctors don't like to take chances misdiagnosing potentially lethal conditions, and they are pretty thoroughly trained - especially a specialist like a urologist. However, I think you and your doctor can probably agree that there would be no harm in an ultrasound to be 100% sure.

I have suffered from exactly the same thing, and skeebobo and Franks previous answers sum up what I have learnt about myself.

Firstly and most importantly, you must get it checked out, the docters and the hospital staff are above excellent in dealing with this manner of concern, and you will wonder how you ever put it off. Hvaing had myself examined twice by a gp, and once via ultra-sound in the hospital, I would NEVER hesitate to be checked again.

My 'swelling' occurs periodically at the very base of my right testicle, I have noticed over the years that this also occurs when I get into warm or hot water, but soon goes again, I used to also have a pian down my right leg, but wonder if that was psychological, as having been checked over, have not suffered it since.

I forget the details of what the specialist said but it was certainly in line with the comments made earlier in that the male reproductive system is exceptionally complex and very commonly prone to blockages. Once again I refer to both Frank and Skeebob's posts.

Get yourself checked out fella...

It could be a hematocele, a harmless accumulation of blood or perhaps a hydrocele, a 'water' accumulation. In either case, it is harmless at present, but may in the future, if it enlarges, require draining (a minor thing). If your urologist is unconcerned, you should ignore it. However shopping around to other physicians can lead to a mis-diagnosis and costly and uncomfortable biopsy. A urologist spends about 12 years to become board certified and I would value his opinion, I am an internist and he would value my opinions about his own health, it is placing trust in your peer group. However if it enlarges, return to him/her for further evaluation. I suggest wearing either a supporter or jockey type shorts for support of the testes.

I particularly have a BB sized spot on my left testicle. I freaked out when I discovered it 7 years in the past while i replaced into 15, and that i went to the well-being care provider, who informed me it replaced right into a benign cyst. It hasn't gotten any better in view that then. If it cancerous, it always grows. yet yeah, get the ultrasound just to make particular.

Could be a harmless cyst but dont leave it to chance,go to see another doctor and have a second opinion,it needs to be looked at thoroughly.

If a professional doctor has given you a diagnosis then I would hope that to be trustworthy. If you are still worried maybe you should seek a second opinion?
