Have you a usb plugged in that isn't attatched to anything. I know that with older P.C's that can be a problem other wise you may want to run a virus checker make sure your computers clean and then failing that it looks like it may need an MOT.

The information you have provided is insufficient to detect your problem.
Be calm and describe more detail of your problem like
After installing which hardware your problem started?
After how many minutes your computer freezes?
What are the messages you get if at all any.
What are the things that you have tried?

Hope to see your question again in more detail.

Man, have you been hit by a motha of all bugs?

That's a humdinger you've got there!?

It's created a "new hardware" that doesn't exist and makes your OS go tilt trying to find it?

Since you say it freezes immediately, there's nothing you can do about it other than format the disc and reinstall.

All the best.

Cheers

go to device manager and look for anything with a yellow question mark or a red cross and disable any of these and it should solve your problem
