Hi andrew_n. I have no immune system either due to high dose prednisolone treatment. It'll be months before the reduction of dose will be down to zero tabs. I hope your Dr has informed you that it's very important to make an appt immediately if you get: a cold, exposed to chickenpox or measles or anything. My sinuses have bothered me twice now. I thought I was getting a cold. I think they get irritated from the side effects. (Hope). It's hard being in public around people so careless with their germs, isn't it?
Try mixing salt with warm water in a spray bottle. Maybe a tablespoon for every cup. You can find small spray bottles in the travel section of any pharmacy. Salt water spray may help alleviate the pain. Hope it helps.

It just goes to show that what you have been doing is not working for you. Try something different.
You would not find better than products that have been produced as a result of four times Nobel Prize winning science. I do have a testimony for someone who had crohns disease, but cannot put it here. These work by getting to the root cause, which invariably is the immune system. There are a lot of testimonies, but I don't remember one for crohns in www.Glyco.com/Glycosaurus.
I would highly recommend these products, speaking from personal experience. I have not had to take a drug for the past three years.
Good Luck

Im no expert, but personally I hate all drugs, they generally make most conditions worse, not better. Are you managing the condition through diet and lifestyle as well as medication? Its important to get plenty of rest and keep stress levels as low as possible. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, pulses, organic, low fat protein and avoid stimulants, such as sugar, coffee and chocolate. Have you been tested for food allergies, especially wheat & dairy? Some veges and fruits are also bad for people with digestive disorders, such as citrus, potatoes, tomatoes and peppers. Leafy greens are very good for you. Hope any of that info helps, when the immune system gets a knock its important to build it up as much as you can, and drugs often negate that, so keep them at as low dose as you are comfortable with.
Cheers :)

Quick Action Plan for Crohn's Disease
1. Diet is of primary importance. Avoid all sugars, refined flour products, and carbohydrates, milk and dairy products, processed foods that contain preservatives and artificial sweeteners, alcohol, hydrogenated and trans-fatty oils, as well as foods that are common allergens.
2. Emphasize organic, fresh vegetables and non-citrus fruits, organic grains, as well as organic, free-range meats and poultry and wild-caught fish.
3. Drink plenty of pure, filtered water throughout the day.
4. Enema containing butyric acid two to five times a week. (Add one tablespoon of butyric acid to one quart of warm water.)
5. Supplements with vitamin A, beta carotene, vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and zinc, taken with a multivitamin/multimineral formula. Essential fatty acids, especial omega-3 oils, are also recommended.
6. Stress reduction through the use of various mind/body medicine techniques, such as biofeedback, hypnotherapy, meditation and relaxation exercises.
7. If you smoke, stop and if you are currently taking aspirin or other NSAIDs, consider replacing them with safer, more effective natural remedies.
8. Soothing baths two to five nights and alternating hot and cold water packs placed over the stomach and upper abdomen.
9. Juice remedies include aloe juice; wheatgrass juice; cabbage, papaya, and carrot juice; and carrot, beet, and cucumber juice.
10. Juice of half a lemon with warm water, especially in the morning.
11. Allow yourself to receive emotional support to help you embrace some of the common underlying issues identified with Crohn's, such as abandonment, anger, disappointment and rage, which often settle in the gut. Seek out a therapist or other skilled practitioner that can guide you through emotional healing work.

You should stay away from people, and ALWAYS wash your hands when you get home. But before you come home DON'T touch your mouth, eyes, nose, or ears, before you have washed your hands at home.
Then when you're sick my doctor told me to drink some extra water each day. He said that helps to push the cold germs and flu virus through you a little faster.

"How to get your immune system to work? Go to the doctors and you can get some injections to make your bone marrow work."
Take time out of your busy day to look up what prednilasone is. It is meant to suppress your immune system while it bombards the body with side effects. All to treat something you'll be lucky never to get. Home remedies and opinions based on what the current health trends are in Cosmo magazine? Have NOTHING TO DO WITH DEBILITATING, LIFE-THREATENING, LIFE ALTERING DISEASES AND MEDICAL CONDITIONS THAT ARE NOT IN THE CATEGORY OF ORDINARY SNIFFLES.
