They are the best trained and they are disciplined to the maximum,don't mess with a Royal Marine.Anyone who thinks the US Navy seals or Rangers are the best live in their own little world without any knowledge of the outside world,5 SBS saved 100 US Rangers so i think i know who's best.

This is a bit of a loaded question. However, the Marines are not just shock troops. They are encouraged to think a bit more than regular troops because they will often have to rely on their own initiative, perhaps out of touch with their chain of command.
The USMC is quite different. This is a regular branch of, where as the RM are trained commandos and are significantly better troops.
As for the best? From the British you might also claim SAS, SBS, or even air born. However, for general military roles the Marines are very good.
Other contenders: Forget the Americans. The Russian special forces are good, but underfunded. Israel have produced some very good special forces. These include reconasence troups (E.G. Sayorete Gollani), and can boast a string of sucessful missions from their naval commandos. One might also look at the Foreign Legion.
Overall, by comparison, the RM can claim to be amongst the best in the world. But it is a tough call to state who are actually the best troops, although Britain can probably field the most contenders.

The Royal Marines are he best as they have 32weeks of training and only the fittest get in.....and they are rapidly deployed around the world using land, air and sea methods

they are good but as to being the best ,i honestly dont no, each nation has it own crack regiments,this is for all the yanks out there who seem to think they are the only ones in Iraq,get some facts the marines were the first into many battles and are still there fighting and British and other NATO forces are still in Afghanistan fighting and dying, where are you OH sorry there is no oil in Afghanistan is there

the royal marines commando's
per mare per terram, by land by see. oh yes and air...
i can tell you they are the most disciplined troops in the world and most who stay in either serve in the sas sbs or comanchio company.. i did the commando course in 1990's and t was well good hard but enjoyable...the royals dont shout at the recruits you know, the would tell you shouting is a waste of time and achives zilch.....hoooorahhh
a fav motto of the royals....they dont like us but we dont care.

Royal Marines are not the best. US Marines are the best Marines in the World!
Royal Marines Training= 32 weeks.
US Marines Training= 12 weeks.
...and yet, US Marines still are the best because they turn them into killing machines in just 12 weeks, while Royal Marines take 32 weeks. The only reason why someone will say Royal Marines are better, is only because they have longer training. And even if they were better, you can't say US Marines are far behind, and they only have 12 weeks training.
Anyways, US Marines are the best!

marines are not soldiers,they belong to the navy,they are the best of their genre in the world,END OF!!,no poxy yanks come near to their standard,only on the playstation......,if you wanna know who are the best soldiers in the world then look no further than THE BRITISH ARMY.........remember vietnam? the falklands?....same wars...different results.....!!!!!!!

You are wrong its the s.a.s.Ihave served alongside both I know what im talking about ,the all arms course may be tough but marines are only shock troops.
