When I lived in North Africa for 2 yrs I just loved a stew my friend made. I t was your basic beef stew plus few drops of hot pepper (adjust to taste) optimal. Here is the kicker.. serve very hot (temperature) and drop a raw egg into each serving, when this is stirred into the stew it is delicious.
Serve with warm french bagette bread, it's nice and crispy.
Now I'm hungry!

Beef is expensive and not very good here, so I have switched most of my beef recipes to pork; wow, it's good.
Try your favorite beef stew recipe with pork, but the pork cooks MUCH quicker!
Cube pork shoulder, or other cheap cut, remove most fat, flour and brown, add a few beef bouillon cubes OR salt, carrots, onions, potatoes, green beans, cover with water and simmer until carrots are done (leave carrots in good size pieces not tiny dice), the pork should also be done at the same time; if broth not thick enough, use wondra flour and water mixed together, add and simmer a few minutes; or use regular flour in water and put in the blender for 30 seconds, then pour into the BOILING stew) stir and 5 minutes it's done. Adjust salt and pepper before serving.
To make thismore like beef Stroganoff, at the last, add chopped green onions, sauted mushrooms, and sour cream, stir to dissolve the sour cream.
Serve Stroganoff style on noodles, or just like stew. Rich and good.

Venison casserole, done in red wine and some onion, although there is nothing to beat stews and casseroles of all types during the winter.

Nice chicken breast with mild mustard rubbed in, left overnight to marinate. Cooked parsnips, swede and potatoes in chicken stock. Blend some of the veg and keep the rest. Add chicken breasts to mixture and cook a bit more. Lovely with crusty bread.
