Does it make you feel good about yourself when you destroy anothers atheism and comfort? I don't share a belief in God and NOTHING on this earth can take away my atheism but I am wondering if it gives you pleasure to destroy someones atheism who is young in the atheism and easily misled? Does that make you happy? I would be ashamed.

It didn't seem to worry Catholic missionaries when they went round the globe set on destroying other people's religions and beliefs, stamping out all the native gods and local culture to replace it with this voracious Middle-eastern export...

Apparently not, child abuse (brainwashing) doesn't bother them.

I'm atheist, but your question seems to be an unfair attack on Debra M.

I grew up Christian, and I understand that for many people, their faith is the most important thing in their lives. In times of trouble, that very faith is what gets them through.

For we atheists, we look inside ourselves for that same strength. If an atheist chooses to practice religion, then that person was experiencing doubt and conflict , and had lost faith within themselves.

So is finding faith in something else, in order to give you purpose and keep you afloat, really so terrible?

We should all learn a little tolerence.

I have honestly never tried. If asked I will share otherwise I live and let live. I have friends that are atheists and if they are happy I am happy for them.
