Sin is a deliberate thought, word, deed, or omission contrary to the eternal law of God.
In other words, sin is anything that hurts your relationship with God.
With love in Christ.

Anything outside of the will of God. There is no one who has not sinned. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. The wages of Sin is (death) the second death (separation from God forever)
God had provided a way for some to escape the judgment and second death, by becoming our replacement.
Those that are under the blood of the Christ. If we are guilty of any sin , we are guilty of all.
There are denominations that have categorized sin, but it is not in the bible, but can be found in Babylonian text which is the origin their religion.
If any Christian offers a doctrine, ask them where it can be found in the Bible, including me. I can provide all scripture to any doctrine that I have spoken in the Bible.
There are no good people in the eyes of God. This includes Mother Theresa etc. Read Galatians 2 . If we can obtain salvation by obeying the laws then Christ is dead in vain. Without the Christ , there is no forgiveness of sin.

Sin is turning away from God's will. The Bible says that each and every one of us has sinned (Romans 3:23) because on our own, we will not seek Him. He has to draw us to Himself first. (John 6:44) The word translated "sin" literally means "to miss the mark"--much as an arrow misses a bullseye. If we're "off the mark," then we have to turn back to where we should be, where God calls us to be, in fellowship with Him. We must turn away from the point we're at, having missed the mark, and go back to where God wants us. This "turning around" would be a lot like making a U-turn when we realize we've been driving in the wrong direction. However, since God must first make us aware that we have missed the mark and that we need Him, the only way we can "hit the mark" is with His help. To be perfectly aligned with God's will, the Bible says that we must be perfect, just as God is perfect (Matthew 5:48). How do we do that? Only with God's help--which is why He sent His Son Jesus (John 3:16). God demands that we be perfect; we cannot be perfect on our own; so God sent His Son to be our perfect mediator (1 Timothy 2:5) through whom we can have a relationship with the Father and have our sins forgiven. (Colossians 1:13) The notion of having our sins forgiven is much like having a debt forgiven (Matthew 18:23-35)--God demands perfection, we can't meet that standard, so someone who is perfect has to be the one who satisfies God on our behalf. That perfect person in Jesus. Only by making Jesus the owner, if you will, of our lives will we have someone who can satisfy God on our behalf so that our sins will be forgiven and so that we will have eternal life.

Sin according to the christian concept is disobedience against God's commandment. It does matter whether it is a big or small one. There is no category of sin. Sin is sin.

Well the Bible says sin is" knowing to do good and doing it not." Many people only think about things, like murder, fornication and things of that nature as sin. Although that is true there are many other sins that are not recognized like to worry, not having faith,
not listening to the Holy spirit etc. I don't think we can list all the sins there is, that is why we should follow the Holy spirit as he leads us daily to avoid sinning.

The word sin literally means to miss the mark. Therefore, a sin is anything that misses a goal. That is how you can sin against different people as well as against God. It just depends who's goal you miss the mark on.

start with Genesis with original sin, then try the 10 commandments, then Jesus gave two commandments; love thy neighbor as thine self, and I forgot the other, I guess I need to read the bible again, its been years since I did.
