A pork roast would be wonderful. You'll want to buy a fresh pork picnic roast, bone in.
Seasoning rub: 4 garlic cloves mashed in mortar with pestle, 2T salt, 10 peppercorns, 1t oregano, 1t olive oil, 1t lemon juice or vinegar.
I make deep stabs into the roast and introduce the rub every 3 inches or so, all over the roast and rub the rest on the meat.
Place in 350F oven with skin side up, after 1 hour lower to 325F and cook according to weight.
Yellow rice as a side dish, with fried plantains. Yum!

I love lumpia (eggrolls), but it takes a lot of time to make especially if you want it to taste really good. Luckily for you, you can buy it made in asian markets. It should be in the freezer section and all you have to do is fry it. Try some pancit because that's very traditional. I also like every kind of filipino dessert. It's a must to have so don't forget dessert. Here are some ideas: http://maindish.allrecipes.com/az/Pncit.asp http://recipestoday.com/recipes/pasta/pancit.htm
