Scientists all the over the world mostly agree on one thing That Global warming is the sole reason for violent changes in climates for the past few years and for the foreseeable future. And we know that all the governments with americans leading the pack, would do nothing to stop it or even acknowledge it. What would you do or suggest so that we as a single human being can reduce the effect?

As for me, I try and take the public transport whenever possible. Use Bicycle when I need to travel less than 2 kms. Reduce electricity consumption in my home to optimum levels.

I would like to invite more suggestions on this topic.

Stop taking vacations, take all my money out of the bank, cut up my credit cards, refuse to spend money unless absolutely necessary, turn off the television, buy a used car instead of a new one, eat at home/go on a diet, and publicly protest President Bush's anti-humanity stance on global warming until the plunder of this earth and the plunder of our children's future STOPS. When will the consumer ever learn that WE have power?

Yes it's true that the earth has a cycle of temperature of it's own, and we can do little to prevent that. However... if we as humans plan to be around on the globe for the next few thousand years we do have to do something. Pretending we aren't the problem is not going to help. Imagine the family members you love the most.. now think about them getting cancer and being told, sorry they are going to die because the global temperature went up about 3 degrees and many of the plants we could have used to make into drugs no longer exist. I don't know exactly what will happen if we continue on the path we are on, but I do know one thing. As rational, thinking beings we have a responsibility to take a good hard look at what we are doing and make some small changes.

I heard stopping people from smoking will have "dramatic effects" on global warming.
Start by petitioning your local government to ban smoking in bars (done).
Then get smoking banned from public places (done in many cities).
Then get smoking banned all over (in process).
I'm not a smoker, but I think it would be great to place the "global warming blame" on the backs of smokers and give us SUV drivers a break.
You might want to think about this whole "global waming thing" once again with an open mind. Look at all of those "agreeing scientists" charts and make a circle where combustable engines were invented. Notice there were large increases in "global warming" before we were blowing carbon gasses out of tailpipes.
And also remember all of those same "climate experts" predicted with certanty that 2006 was going to have massive huricanes due to the warming of the Gulf waters...
If they can't accuratly predict the weather within a few weeks or months, why trust what they predict for our "dire future"?
Remember "global warming" is also a big buisness. We can call it "Big Warming", like they call "Big Oil"...
Anyone can write a "doom and gloom" global waming book these days. Your don't even need to be accurate on your evidence. Like writing a stock market prediction book. If your prediction or formulas worked, you wouldn't need to be writing books for a living... Obviously you don't need hard facts and evidence to talk about "global warming".

There are billions of people on earth. This can equal to billions of planted trees. To try and defeat global warming, each person on earth should do their part and plant a few trees. Plant a forest and instead of calling it a tree farm, call it an oxygen farm. If we all planted trees, we would have billions more trees eating up the carbon dioxide problem. Trees are already at the point where they are full of carbon dioxide, enough that they are not eating very much carbon dioxide because they have enough inside them already for 4 more seasons. Our trees are actually fat, because we humans keep feeding them out of control carbon dioxide levels. So the trees we have are not keeping up with the carbon dioxide levels. The trees are almost at the point where they are dying, and then they will not create oxygen. Then of course, without oxygen, all life will die. http://www.nasa.gov/vision/earth/environment/climate_bugs.html

I can see some benefits to global warming. I live in a cold winter climate. My natural gas utility bills would go down. I would not have to shovel snow. Vegetation might stay green longer. We might have more rain. Rain tends to clean the air and wash down the neighborhood.
I am one of those skeptics who believe man alone cannot cause global warming, and man alone cannot reverse global warming. The Sun has been causing global warming for about five billion years.

I would place duct tape across Al Gore's lips. The warming and cooling of the earth will continue with or without humans. Humans are very narcissistic to believe they can either cause or stop planetary changes.
