Try mixing a little water with wet food, heat it for a few seconds in the microwave. This will give kitty nutrition and the water he needs. Wish I found this out a few weeks ago so I wouldn't have thrown out all that uneaten wet food from my cat!!

We found out recently that some cats won't eat food that they ate at the time they were ill. So, when our cat was off her food we tried her with sardines, pilchards, and finally, salmon! Which she ate little bits of and then went off it all. Then, when she was diagnosed and put on medication, she wouldn't eat those things at all! They apparently associate those foods with being ill. So it was back to square one.... Royal Canine wet food in sachets as per usual - duck flavour, thank you very much! Also bear in mind that when they are on medication, it can really drag them down and sometimes you just have to go with it. No more than three days with no food though. A 24 hour starve can be quite good for a cat, any more than that and you need to start counting. If he's eating little bits, that's not so bad. And dehydration is a weird one because it takes away the appetite anyway. I wish you luck and hope you find something tempting. Maybe it's time to start hanging out at the Sainsbury's fish counter for reject off cuts!!

go back to cat nutrition milk. Then soft foods with gravies that she can lap at. give her some time. and keep up with the feeding. Do not give her any other animals milk, only the kitten milk from the pet store. Also, call back the vet that diagnosed the problem. Doc will have good ideas and will likely tell you for free since you already paid for one visit.

Try meat only baby food. They aren't much more expensive then canned food, and they are easier to digest. Meat only though, chicken or beef should be fine. Or if you can find some canned cat food that isn't chunky you could try that. I had problems getting my cat to swallow whole chunks when I had to force-feed her. Baby food worked best, use a small spoon, once it's in the cats mouth he'll usually swallow it, but if he struggles it could be messy, so wear old clothes/put a garbage bag down.

Have you tried a wet food? My kitties eat it up as a treat even if they aren't hungry. If they already eat wet food, try something even more special like a can of tuna or mackrel. I wouldn't recommend force feeding him, cats dont like to do anything you force them to...

our cat Toby is on antibiotics for a mouth infection. We are giving him chicken and rice, other times fish and rice. It is all cooked soft, not too watery and mixed well. (Obviously he can't have this diet all the time as it doesn't have the minerals he needs and gets from tinned catfood and biscuits)

your vet will have special food in a tube that you can put in their mouth. I had to do this last year.
