How big is it? The size will depend on how quickly it will defrost, take it out now if you haven't already.

It really depends how big it is and if you leave it in the fridge or on the counter top to defrost.
I usually taked about 6-12 hours to defrost meat to the point of being able to cook it.
I know that my mum used to put frozen chicken etc in the sink and fill it up with really hot water to help defrost it quicker. It may also sound stupid, but blast it with a the hairdryer for 10 minutes to help it along.
I would not suggest microwave though as it tends to cook rather than defrost and it ends up tough and minky.
Hope this helps

depends on the size, you should defrost it in the fridge, but that will slow down the defrost, you could defrost in a suitable micro wave, but it is critical to have the prefrozen weight..... you also need to consider that if you are planning a meal the beef is better to be cooked slowly at first and and then geiven a heat blast to fininsh it off, good luck....
ps make sure you do roast pots and yorkies..... I need to go shopping now... lol lol
