Parrots love grapes and other soft fruit... I have to warn you though that they have the same effect as the so on us humans if too many are eaten... Squits! Your parrot could very well have a bit of an upset stomach.. so keep it on dry food for a couple of days... and make sure it has plenty of clean fresh water. You could try putting some vitamin or tonic drops in it's water. If it doesn't improve in the next 48 hours.. take it to your vet. Parrots are not cheep (sorry bad pun!). It may well just be though that your parrot is highly strung... and is trying emotional blackmail to get more grapes!!!! My son does it for sweets.... 'If I throw my dinner on the floor.. maybe I can have biscuits instead' . Hope this helps x

Ours always has a bowl of grapes and unshelled peanuts as well as his regular food. As long as the grapes are not rotting then they won't ferment.

He will sometimes eat them, sometimes throw them on the floor of his cage, depending on his mood.

They do suffer from mood swings, which is what this sounds like. Try putting in some new toys for him to play with, they do need a lot of stimulation.

Get it to a vet IMMEDIATELY!!!! it is sick. Birds hide signs of illness until they are very very sick , too bad to hide it any more. If your bird looks unwell he will die if you don't get it to a vet withing 48 hours.
African greys are prone to hypocalcaemia. If you feed normal parrot food which is high in sunflower seeds, he may well be going hypocalcaemic. He needs a vet right away!!!!

i'd not enable it out of its cage yet. positioned it again in and enable it stay there for per week, getting used to the kin noises. The over preening is possibly because he's nervous. He in simple terms needs time to sense threat-free in his new surroundings. be careful, over preening can become feather plucking,it quite is a risky habit and also very confusing to modify! what type of nutrition develop into he eating on the puppy keep? in case you don't understand call them and locate out. it could be diverse from what you've given him, and he might want to no longer are conscious of it as nutrition. you could continually slowly change him to a diverse nutrition later, the genuine challenge now might want to be that he eats! in the intervening time I truly have not began to fulfill an AG that could no longer wild about peanuts! attempt giving him a peanut. Birds can starve to death in 3 days via their large quickly metabolisms so that's critical that he eats asap! After he has been in his cage for per week then you quite can paintings on getting him to "step up" onto your hand. i'd not propose allowing him to pearch on suitable of his cage, that could bring about territory topics later. good luck!

Have had a yellow nape amazon parrott for over 20 years myself. He always throws the first piece of food down. Birds are just as moody as little children(supposedly parrotts have the intellect of a 3 yr old child) but are great companions and entertaining. Have fun with yours....

I shouldnt think so, grapes only become alcoholic once they have been fermented (gone rotten).

There is alot of water in grapes, maybe he is feeling a bit full after all those grapes, i know i feel full after i eat heaps of grapes.

yeast does live on the skin of grapes, thats where most wine yeasts come from anyway.

Unless the grapes were rotting, then I dont think he will be drunk. It may be another reaction...

Did the African grey just type that question? Because if he did, then I would say that he is definitely drunk because his spelling, grammar and punctuation are shite.
