I thought the 8th Pope was going to either be a short one, or was the anti christ.
I am not putting down the catholic church , I was told my a catholic this also

Though I am not a Catholic, I will never say that the Pope and anti Christ is related.

There is just too much ignorance on this board on this subject matter. Read Chapter 7 and 8 of Daniel and Revelation Chapt 12-17. The AntiChrist is revealed to us you dont have to guess.
It even tell us where the headquarter of the AntiChrist is located.
The AntiChrist will come out of the 4th Kingdom (Babylon, followed by Medo-Persian then Greece (Alexander the Great), then Rome.
The Anti-Christ is depicted as Satan using human agencies to bring out his will.
Daniel- 7:25 - He will speak against the most high
He will oppress His saints;
He will be in power for 1260 years (Also see Rev 17:18)
Its main office (headquarter is located in a city with 7 hills. (Rev. 17:9)
Now who in world history fullfilled this prophecy:
After the Roman empire fell who succeeded her both with religious and civil and military authority?
Papal Rome is the only one who satisfied these prophecies:
1. It persecuted the Christians as predicted. During the inquisition (see some tourist brochures showing the torture chambers in basement of many Catholic Churches). Historians "smallest" estimate = 50 million killed/tortured/burned in the stake. (This could hardly be Jesus Church. Jesus would never, never use these methods.)
2. Both Daniel and Revelation predicted this power will last for only 1260 years. The Roman Pope became dominant (uncontested power in Europe) from 538 AD. If prophecy is true, then the Papal power (Rome under the Pope) will last only until 1798. True enough, in 1798, Napoleon's general, Genral Bertheir captured the Pope during the French Revolution and put him in jail where he died of a broken heart.
3. He will speak against the most High: Read CAtholic Encyclopedia and other Catholic press releases....some claiming the Pope to be God Himself (email me for actual article)
4. This religious power, revered with followers all over the world is based in a city with seven hills (Rev 17:9). Ask any travel agent promoting tours - there is only one city located on seven hills - Rome.
5. Many , many more prophecies (space is too short) fulfilled only by the Catholic church (the first beast in Revelation)
6. In 1798 when the Pope lost its dominant power and sway over the countries of Europe a second beast comes up (a beast represents a country or power.
7. Question? which country began to sprout from out of nowhere to become the world's greatest power? The USA of course.
8. As predicted in prophecy the USA is decribed as a lamb that turned into a ferocious beast (just like the first beast -Rome)
Is this happening today in America? Hmmm let us see . . .
From its very noble foundations of freedoms, the US as a Christian county has evolved and continue to evolved as predicted. No more praying in schools, no ten commandments..in public buildings, illegal to say the "oath of allegiance" because it says "So help me God" in the end.....
The AntiChrist is now in motion for that great conflict. Where persecution will be severe among the Christians (like the Roman Catholic Inquisition) that faithful christians cannot be allowed to buy or sell unless they follow state dictated laws that contradict Biblical teachings.

According to interpretations of Nostradamus's prophecies, this pope was supposed to have been black, and the last. Turns out he is a nazi. I think the papacy will hang in there for a while longer, but I have a feeling that Benidict won't last as long as John Paul II did.

Actually no one knows when the anticrhist will appear or if he belongs to any of the existing religions. The only thing the Bible mentioned was that the Antichrist will love the Jews and he will be from a country called Cyria a neigboring country of Israel.

He will not come as you imagine. Look for the ground as it splits open. The Pope has nothing to do with an anti-Christ.
