Almost the whole city of Paris is worth seeing...
If you enjoy museums, evidently the Louvre, and for Impressionist art the Jeu de Paume (at the far end of the Tuileries Garden. Then there is the Military museum at Les Invalides, where Napoleon is buried. And not too far from there the small Rodin museum with most of his most famous sculptures..
Across from the Eiffel Tower, also a must, you have the Palais de Chaillot with 2 large museums: Musée de l'Homme and Musée de la Marine.
In total there are 74 museums in Paris, and at least half are worth visiting! (All depends on your preferences).

There are also many beautiful churches, the main three being La Madeleine, Notre Dame, and the Sacré Coeur (up on Montmartre, it's the one with the best views of the city, and next to it you have Place du Tertre, where the street painters are).
Then there are dozens of monumental buildings...Such as Le Petit & Le Grand Palais.... La Conciergerie...Palais du Luxembourg, Palais Mazarin, Palais Royal, etc.
Also main avenues and Squares such as the Champs Elysées, Place Vendôme, Place de l'Opéra, Place de la Concorde, Place de la Bastille, etc.
Then you have the Bois de Boulogne with its little zoo and wonderful gardens to the west and the Bois de Vincennes to the southeast, also with a zoo....
Then there is the Père Lachaise cemetary with the tombs of many great persons. It's worth a stroll if you have the time...

And of course, in the suburbs you have the Chateau de Versailles (absolutely magnificent), and a close second the Chateau de Fontainebleau...
I could go on for pages...
Enjoy your stay, Paris is rich in beauty!

Places to visit in Paris

Probably the best known landmark in Europe, the Eiffel Tower is the symbol of Paris.

Notre-Dame Cathedral
The Notre Dame de Paris is one of the first Gothic Cathedrals ever built.

Arc de Triomphe
This triumphal arch located at the end of the Champs-Elysées commemorates Napoléon's victories.

Louvre Museum
Once the residence of the French King, now one of the world's most famous museums.

Sacré-Coeur
The Sacré Coeur is a basilica in Roman-Byzantine style located on the Montmartre hill.

Enjoy!

If you can't speak French then you are limited to the main tourist spots.
The obvious places are the Eifell tower (La tour effiell), arc de Triomph, Champs Elleses (fantastic shopping to be doen there), Versailles palace (very nice in the summer), Euro Dysney, the Louvre, Montmartre church, Sacre coure church (and the artists the sit in the square close to it) and a boat trip down the Seine.

You can also find out things that you might like to do from the tourist offices.

The good thing about Paris though is that a lot of Parisians can't stand bad French so would rather speak even worse English to you, which can make your life a lot easier.

It is a fantastic city, especially at night so enjoy.

i don't wanna say all the same things that all the other people have, but i really do reccomend the eiffel tower. even though you don't go up there it is also very interesting to stay at the park in front of there. it is so nice. you don't have to worry about not knowing how to speak french because there are alot of tourists there. if you go by metro, which i reccomend, just go on line 1 and get off at trocadero. when you get out of the metro just keep walking straight and turn left. then voila, the eiffel tower is right there.

the champes ellysees avenue is where you would want to go shopping. there also is the arc de triomph. of the other shopping center that you can go to is la defense. it's a huge mall called centre commercial. you can't miss that.

musee griven is also awesome. it is a wax museum and is just awefully nice.

if you go to versailles make sure you go to marie antoinette's corridor, it is so nice. things are just lavish there.

i don't reccomend sacre cuer unless you think cathedrals are interesting. and since it is up on a hill, taking the stairs is a must. and they are extremely long and it is hot up there. but the view is to die for!

This weekend (6-7 october), there's the Vendange (the yearly wine harvest festival) in Montmartre that lasts for 2-3 days. The main event is on Saturday, when dignitaries come to open the festival. There will stalls of regional food and delicacies. Montmartre is the site of the last two vineyards left in the whole of Paris.

The Eiffel Tower is a must if you go to Paris, you'll get some amazing views of the whole of Paris.

While the Louvre is boring, and not worth walking through loads of corridors just to end up seeing some crappy overrated portrait (the Mona Lisa)

If you travel in france the best way to visit Paris or another town is to go at random streets and let you surprise by the architecture, people, the history ... everything.

Anyway if you want to see the "must of Paris" follow Japanese buses ! :)

Even if you dont go up the tower, go to visit it, its quite amazing being up close to it. Go shopping down the Champs....and if you are morbid like me, get a taxi driver to take you through the tunnel where Di was killed! Walk along the Seine too, thats lovely.
