I prefer a Nissan.
The Toyotas are awesome, too
but I have an Altima and I absolutely love it.
It drove both and the Nissan had more bells and whistles than the Camry, and the price was much better.

So which is better?
Toyota is the world's largest car maker. They have an excellent reputation for build-quality, last-forever trucks, superbly luxurious refined saloon (Lexus). Toyota almost bought Porsche, but was later hired as manufacturing consultant to the German company. That's why cheaper Porsche - Boxster was introduced to get Porsche out of the debt. All Japanese Govt officials uses Toyota too. So from family car to hybrid, luxurious car to trucks, Toyota's quality and reliability is second to none.
Nissan? They can't even get their website www.nissan.com ! How can they get their cars right? You still see some old Toyota running around, but not old Nissan. Nissan once produces over 37 models at the same time and the company went into bankcrupsy. Poor management and did not study the market properly. So the French (Renault) took them up. French are notorious for their poor quality cars, when you pass a poor Japanese car brand into a French owner, what can you expect? Better cars?....right. Take the 350Z for example, a Renault V6 was installed into it. Crap car...crapper engine.
With all respect to the Godzilla Skyline GTR - First Production car to lap the mighty Nurburgring under 8 minutes. Great Nissan. So unless you live on track all your life, a Toyota is a wiser and better choice.

Nissan by far...if anyone doesnt agree just check the resale values of the cars over the years, then divide that number by the original price, Nissan has better resale value because they run longer and the body doesnt wear as fast.

Betwixt the two I would lean on Toyota for two points.
You Q is too vague both are good car builders, but I believe Toy has more Plants in the US which makes the "better".
And they are involved in NASCAR.

All depends on the model
Toyota Landcruiser is one of the best off roaders in the world
Nissan Skyline is one of the best sports cars in the world.
Different cars for different needs.
Be more specific. What are you looking for?
