10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.

9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.

8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.

7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!

6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.

5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.

4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."

3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.

2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.

1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian.

No hostility no anger, just a simple list of simple facts.
Refute any of them, please...I'm waiting for your biting wit and razor sharp logical dissection. No? An ad hominem attack is a fairly typical fall back position when on has no actual argument, so I'm not surprised that was the option you chose.
god is imaginary, delusional belief in god is dangerous.

Another insult and ad hominem attack. Sigh.
I'l be happy to tell you about all the biblical prophecies that have come true if you could actually point one out to me.

sorry if this has been posted before, i just ran across it.
10. Like you, I am saddened by peoples willingness to believe in fairy tales, i extend my sadness to include your delusion though
9. not an answer. prove god exists first
8. whether you laugh or not, your answer confirms the point
7 wow...again proving the point. Excusing the "old" god, and "not aware" of modern atrocities. How about Jim Jones, the Inquisition
6 you "believe in the inerrancy" of the bible. Good for you...prove it. The bible is riddled with errors, contradictions and inconsistencies.
5. Science does NOT support a young earth model. That is faith.
4. So glad you are one of the chosen, and are ok with the capricious cruelty of a god that dooms most of his beloved creation to hellfire
3. Obviously never heard of southern pentacostals
2 http://www.whywontgodhealamputees.com has a response to that
1. You may be one of the few who "know" church history. Most don't. And those that do, interpret it badly.

I'm amazed at the prayer thing -- people say it's god who miraculously allowed a kid to survive some earthquake that otherwise killed 10,000 people. A relative sent me an email on the psychological assessment behind islamic fundamentalists and I thought it was correct; when I responded that I found the exact same mindset in myself when I was a christian fundamentalist, she literally couldn't see the parallels! And I am perplexed when I talk to people who have been 'studying' they bible for years -- the know almost nothing except what a literalist preacher has told them! It's like studying Orwell's "Animal Farm" for 20 years and thinking that we need to go and search for talking animals (missing the whole point of the allegory)!!

This "question" (!?!) has been "asked" dozens of times here already. The "question" contains many outright lies and gross distortions about the bible and true Christianity. Here are a few Scriptural thoughts to consider:

(Romans 16:17) Keep your eye on those who cause divisions and occasions for stumbling contrary to the teaching that you have learned, and avoid them.

(2 Corinthians 4:4-6) The god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers

(Philippians 2:14-15) In among a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you are shining as illuminators in the world

(1 Timothy 6:3-5) If any man teaches other doctrine and does not assent to healthful words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, nor to the teaching that accords with godly devotion, he is puffed up with pride, not understanding anything, but being mentally diseased over questionings and debates about words. From these things spring envy, strife, abusive speeches, wicked suspicions, violent disputes about trifles on the part of men corrupted in mind and despoiled of the truth

This is what I answered on the same questions 3 months ago. This has only been posted around 20 times here.

0. I am not outraged, at most saddened. People can believe what they want. I'm just here to provide info as needed.

9. Of course. We were created of dirt BY GOD. That makes all the difference. http://www.answersingenesis.org/home/are...

8. I don't laugh, however I do believe in the triune God, One God with Three Aspects.http://www.christiananswers.net/q-eden/e...

7. I agree that I don't like what occurred during the Exodus time frame, however that was a practice that more than just the Jews used. In many cultures there have been atrocities of this nature to lessen the need for more killing in the future as people will fear them and run. The main difference for me, is that I don't know of many atrocities occurring today that is attributable to Christianity, but there are many actions that have been taken by some extremist Muslims today that are a result of their interpretation of their religion.

6. The Holy Spirit did not have sex with Mary but just caused her to become pregnant. I believe in Christ and the resurrection due to my belief in the inerrant of the Bible. http://www.answersingenesis.org/home/are...

5. Yep. However, I see, through science, a young earth. http://www.answersingenesis.org/home/are...

4. Yes. If one does not believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and the belief that He was crucified on the cross and resurrected on the third day, then that is their choice and will answer for all decisions during the day of judgment.

3. Modern science helps me prove my religion. http://www.answersingenesis.org/home/are... I also don't think there are many who speak in tongues today, if any. The speaking in tongues from the Bible is intelligible to all. Peter spoke in tongues during Pentecost, and everyone heard him in their own language and fully understood. That is true speaking in tongues.

2. "No" and "Wait" are also answers to prayer. That puts the success rate up to 100%. The answer is not always what we want, but God always answers and provides us what we need for the completion of His purpose.

1. I am actually quite learned in the Bible, Cultural History of the Biblical times, as well as Church history. Are there atheists that know more than me? Absolutely. Just as there are many astro-physicists that know more than me as well. However, it is a matter of how we interpret what we know that makes the difference.

This list does a really nice job of placing Christianity properly among the other myths. It must be very difficult for the believers to see what their belief system looks like against the background of others.

I wonder what else could be done to illustrate this? I guess that if we were forced to teach religion in the public schools, something like this would make good curricular material (of course worded less accusingly). It seems to me that seeing the place of Christianity in the collected world religions would be a necessary outcome of that teaching.

Which makes me wonder why fundies/thumpers would bother trying to debate the issues, or proselytize over the I'net. They rely on ignorance & misinformation, so the I'net is not the place for them to be.

I wonder how long it will be before fundies/thumpers just give it up and join the civilized world?

WOW- you might want to consider therapy or anger management... you seem to have some issues about christians big time... what was your point ??? i do not condone christian's actions on many things (even being one myself) ..and i am anything but a fundamentalist... but i never cease to marvel at non believers attempts to try and show how smart or superior they are ... good luck with those issues
