there are 8 planets in our Solar System. Whoever tells you there are 9 are either lying or not up to date with the World. Recently Scientist decided Pluto is too small to be a Planet, therefore we no longer classify it as one. Pluto is now a dwarf planet, just like a comet. Anyway the planets, in order from closest to furtherst from the Sun are as follows:

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupitor, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

And dont listen to the guy who said there should be infinite +2 planets, there are, yes, trillions of planets in the universe, (but your question asked how many planets are in our SOLAR SYSTEM) and there are only 8 planets in our Solar System. If we can see other galaxies thousands of lightyears away, i think we would know if there were more than 8 planets in our Solar System.

There are now 8 accepted planets. but of course they should be infinite +2. 8 are the only ones in within our scope now as we advance in science we will get to the infinite +2

there are eight planets. But, few weeks back scientists decided pluto as not a planet. But this is being disputed and still we take it as a planet.
