If he was genuinely sick then he was not well. You should be pleased he perked up-he obviously needed to to clear his stomach & that made him feel better. You would be worried if he continued to be sick.
Maybe he just needed a day off-don't we all sometimes?
Be gentle with him.

everyone can feel off first thing int the morning when you first get up your body is adjusting to the upright position and blood flow is no longer at rest the body can feel cramped and uncomfortable and some people can be sensitive to this change particularly young children diet can affect their stomach and wolffing down breakfast quickly wont always help especially if its cold as it can put the stomach into shock hence the sickness in the morning get them to do a few stretches when they get up to releive cramp and serve something hot for breakfast like toast or porridge this'll keep their core temperature up and it'll keep them feeling warm toast and porridge is also a good neural base for the stomach there are no artificial flavours and preservatives and it's easy to digest so it gives the body energy to be used elsewhere like the brain as for perking up at 3 thats easy they know that their friends are out of school and there is always a chance they can get to see them for a natter or a game on the playstation you can admit yourself that feeling happy makes you feel better both inside and out he's happy his friends are out and that the kids tv is on soon rather than boring day time and the elevation of dopeamine (chemical released when happy) overrides the discomfort felt by the body it doesn't mean he's not still ill just his body no longer registers it this is good for you to know too because he will probably say "i feel much better now" but you know he's still sick and can keep him in with your eye on him
if the illness keeps occuring or only happens at certain times of the week/month you should ask a doctor or ask about wether he's being bullied at all
hope this helps

This could be a sign of some unpleasantaries happening at school such as being bullied. It could be that he had not done his homework or was avoiding participating in some activies at school. Sit down and talk to him to find out what is happening or you can talk to the teacher about it. When you know what is going on find an amicable solution. Firmly let your son know that education is the basis of success and you are not going to tolerate such behavour from him.

He didn't want to go to school. The cure for this is next time he is "sick", he spends the day in bed. He doesn't get up, he doesn't watch TV, he doesn't play computer games and he certainly doesn't go out and play with his friends after school. If he is really sick he needs the rest, if he isn't it is so unbelievably boring that he won't be in a hurry to do it again.

kids are great at manipulation-he acted that way the whole day only b/c he didnt want to go to school-after he was sure school was over-immaculate recovery b/c he knew he wouldn't have to go-if he acted well before school was up-there was a chance you'd take him back.

next time he does this-make him stay in bed and treat him as if he was still sick-no getting up,no tv,no playing outside with his friends and early bedtime for sure-this will make him think twice about faking sick.

and the next time he tries to tell you he's sick before school-take his temperature-if no fever-send him to school. the nurse will call you if he's really sick-most schools will only send a child home if they have a fever.

Because they know you can not now send them to school as it has finished! sounds to be like you have been played! Unless he was genuinely sick i wouldn't have thought he would have perked up after 3pm!

Most likely he was sick during the morning and felt better as the day went on, but played up his sickness until school was over, so you didn't send him back to school.

My kids ALWAYS attend school, there is NO sickness that stops them from attending school,i would NOT put up with anything like that.In the one instance that my youngest son was "sick",about 3yrs ago(he was 10 then)he was in bed ALL day that day,the previous night, and the next night too-no books,T.V,videos,music,gaming-nothing,he told his brother next day on the way to school that he was so bored,he would never do that again(he thought he was going to have a nice easy day on the playstation!)Childrens education is very important, and i like to think i play my part in that education. As to why?Its just plain "bunking off".

It's called faking it. I know the routine,I use to do the same exact thing. Next time he tells you that he is to sick to go to school, tell him that he has to stay in bed all day. He will instantly get better. Ha ha ha.

sounds like your kid know's how to trick you. couldnt have been that ill. in future, just tell him that if he is off sick again, that he is not allowed out of the house for the whole day. dont allow him out after school finishes.
