I started working at a restuarant from 3-10, sometimes 11 at night and when I get home, I'm usually starving. I also stay up late for hours afterwards. Now I know what foods there are that I can eat and get full but none of them are healthy. What sort of healthy meals can I prepare before I go to work and when I get back so that I'm satisfied from eating a good portion size without eating something fattening and weight gaining? Thanks.

Cereal with bananas, soup, rice with vegetables, a lean cuisine, a salad with grilled chicken. Tuna fish or pasta salad would also be good and that lasts a few days..

It is a myth that eating late is what is bad for your body and that you can gain weight from it- it is more what you are eating late cause our bodies still burn tons of calories when we sleep. So - eating something fattening in the day would have the same effect as at night - just to let you know :o)

The meal you eat before going to work is like breakfast, it should set you up for the day ahead. Try to eat a good healthy, filling meal before you go to work. You need lots of vegetables, lean meat and maybe tofu instead of potatoes. When you come home a good soup, maybe lentils on toast, even beans will be a good choice. Nothing heavy with sauces or spice. a good night's sleep is a great recovery tactic. You can develop a good routine by sticking to these ideas, eat well early, eat light later and get to sleep!

Hi, i suggest something energetic and refreshing before going to work. if you leave for work in the morning, then tea is a must take for you because tea is known for stimulating the brain into work. i also suggest a good well balanced lunch if you are leaving for work in the afternoon i.e, spaghetti, minced meat, salad/fruit and a glass of milk/water. these will keep you energised and fresh for work.

lots of proteins and vegetables late into the night will do good for you. these have got a high fibre content and so you wont have to worry about fattenings especially when you are dieting. what we eat at night is normally stored up for the body unlike during the day when we are active and about. proteins and vegetables also take long in the stomach before they are converted for the body's usage and so you feel full and content even hours later. dont forget to take atleast a glass or two of water in addition.

If you just want a snack, make some popcorn, but don't load it down with butter.
