My mom did a home perm on my hair this past Sunday. Well, i have always dyed my hair. So I think that the perm really set it off. I think its FRIED! Its really bushy and dry feeling now. Even after i put gel or mousse on it its still dry. I was just wondering if I could go to a stylist and get a straightner put in it. Or would that hurt it even more.

don't do Any more to it but a deep conditioning treatment. if you get it straightened it will be so damaged it will start breaking off. your mom probably over processed your making it frizzy and dry. just get a few deep conditioning treatments and get monthly hair cuts until its gone than only go to a professional to get these types of services done! to help keep it moisturized wash it only every other day with moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and keep the conditioner in for 3-5 minuted before you rinse. good luck!!

You think your hair is bad now? Go and put a straightener on it. Any hair dresser that would do it for you would not be professional and an idiot, they should know better. don't do it! Try spray in infusion and hot oil treatments, you can also go to a salon and get re constructor treatments. If you must color,do only the roots, don't get it on the rest of the hair. You may also want to get your hair trimmed. Good luck

It would hurt it even more.

Don't do anything else to it. This is why I tell everyone that unless the person doing your 'home job' is a qualified hairdresser, letting an amateur who hasn't done a day of hairdressing school slather your hair in chemicals is hair suicide on your part. When are people going to learn that saving a buck runs the risk of completely frying their hair?

Oh well. All you can do now is wait for it to grow out. I'm sorry, but even hair treatments aren't going to help it.

DO NOT HAVE IT STAIGHTENED. That will kill it for sure go to a salon and ask for a paul mitchell deep conditioning treatment and ask to buy some humectris shampoo and conditioner. My hair was permed twice in two weeks talk fried!! Try the conditioning treatments and try to use little styling products they dry your hair also. GOOD LUCK!!

its gonna take some time for you hair to return normal again without having to go to the salon.... u can start by not using any gel or mousse in your hair because it contains alcohol that damages ur hair. there is a product by Ealsta QP called recovery oil moistuizer its a leave in moisturizer. and u can use some mango butter moisturizer and breakage control serum. basically Elasta Qp had great products.. so give them a try. and good luck!!

Getting it straightened would just damage it even more. You should really have researched the effects of perming before you done it.
Perming breaks the bonds in your hair and forces them to reconstruct as the curl.
All you can do now is use lots of conditioning treatments.

.Oil your hair and this will keep the hair down instead of sticking out. If you still feel it's really bad cut it short where you could put a small pony tails.
Do not use chemicals for another 6 months because it will only make it worse

I think it is the chemical reaction of the chemicals in the hair dye and the heat molecules. So what you've got to do now is to apply moderate amount of oil(whatever HAIR oil they sell) and wash it with lemon water once in 2 days. This is a traditional way to moist ur hair and also to help your hair stay"rooted" on ur scalps!
