i got a cat a few days ago. straight away i took her to the vet, and got frontline, they said she had some fleas.i've not let her upstairs, and ive got laminate floor downstairs and a leather suite, so theres nothing for fleas to live in. I gave her frontline yesterday, and it said fleas are killed within 24 hours. will it be safe to let her upstairs after this time or should i wait a bit longer???

My cat who ive had for four years has a flea allergy, when i got him he was partially bald. I have used frontline since, and he now has a full coat...basically, frontline works, but reapply every three/ four weeks as opposed to the advised 5/6.
In terms of its potency, it does kill within 24 hours, but you may want to be doubly sure and buy a flea spray for the house

Frontline is a good product but Revolution is better.

I would give it about three days before letting her upstairs.

Even though you have laminated floors and a leather suite, they can still drop off and breed.

We brought home a stray the other week and treated her with Revolution immediately. We did have flea problems but only for a few days and we haven't seen one now for over a week.

Front line is a good deterrent for fleas and does kill them within 24hrs. Problem you may have though is there may be still eggs on your cat. Use a flea comb and some water to give your cat good clean before letting them upstairs as the fleas will get into your carpet and run riot then.

It is NOT a foolproof solution! Fleas can live in leather. Anywhere they can crawl into, they WILL live in them.

The best thing to do is dose her with frontline over a week or so. Groom her daily with a flea comb to remove any dead fleas, live fleas, and/or eggs.

If you've only got one cat, it probably won't be so bad. Good luck!

Frontline cleared my fleas up in about a month.

it may be time to purpose a various flea scientific care. I used to paintings at a vet's workplace and all of us started noticing that the canines have been coming up an immunity to the product after being on it so long and it did no longer be as useful because it is meant to be. i could advise attempting Advantix, and treating your place professionally besides. For undesirable flea infestations, you ought to purchase Capstar from a vet's workplace this is a single pill that starts off killing fleas interior of half-hour. word: in case you're only using the common Frontline, try switching to Frontline Plus.

I personally like Advantage for cats, really good at getting rid of fleas immediately and in the environment, I get them from a discount at the local animal shelter. They don't carry Revolution, was going to try, but unlike Advantage I read Revolution works through being absorbed through the skin, I'm unsure of that, Advantage works externally on the hair and does not make the other cats nauseous if lick. Try Advantage, I know my many cats tolerate this brand very well. And definitely stay flea free for 30days if not more if kept indoors.

If the cages where the stray cats (at the animal shelter) are kept are anything to go by ....... your cat will be flea free.
When a stray comes in we usually treat it straight away for fleas and the floor of the cage. The following morning the bottom of the cage is covered with dead fleas (when the cat was badly infested)

FRontline is a really good product! I have used it on my three dogs for a long time now and find it very effective. Im sure your cat will be fine now, as well as killing fleas, it also kills the eggs. Remember to repeat at the prescribed time intervals.

What a kind of frontline? If you've used the spray, then the fleas are died, if you used the drops, the fleas left the cat and returns later.
