Spend your life helping him and others and that is reward and well being enough, remember him as one who needs help whenever you can, but if he saved your life, whether literally or from a life of whatever, then try to do the same for someone else during your lifetime. That will be enough

Try to do something for him that doesn't require money, like recommending him for a job or asking the local paper to write up your story so that he's publicly recognized, etc. Finally, you might ask him if there's anything you can do.
