Turnovers are usually made with puff pastry and have some sort of fruit filling. An apple turnover is probably the most common flavor. You take a square of puff pastry, put filling in the center, and then fold it in half diagonally, sealing the edges, to make a little triangle.

Any kind of turnover can be delicious, just depends what you like inside, my favorite is cherry...yummy. Flakey pastry with your favorite filling, maybe some glaze on top if it's a desert.

It tastes like a pie, as it's crust with filling, but just in a different shape. Some look different than others, but the ones we sell at my work are rectangular, and contain apple filling.

You from the south?? Know fried pie? Similiar, pastry dough baked with filling; can be sweet or meat. Up to you whether you like or not.
ATTENTION TWIGGY: That is an upsidedown cake.

When pastry is folded over with a filling in the middle.
