I think marriage is a very good institution, but who wants to spend the rest of their lives in an institution.
I am 59, never been married, and haven't lived alone for any more than a 6 month period since I was 21. This marriage idea is forced upon us by others, most of whom are not really able to think for themselves.
If you are a pair of loving free willed people, then spending a couple of hours or so going through some ancient ceremony is hardly significant to your lives.
In light of today's knowledge the caste system is of no benefit to anyone, so just ignore it and live your own lives. What you do once you are old enough to look after yourself is no-one else's business, and if they don't approve, then let them go their own way with no worries or regrets on your part.
Why should you allow someone else's ideas to restrict your own happiness.
If the pressure from family and acquaintances is too great then move to another area or another country where people have more mature minds.

I know the situation, being there twice, the first guy got married to someone og his own caste and the second one, well he's still with me. I try not to get too attached but its very hard. However I must say I have had friends in this situation and they managed to persuade their parents and today they are happily married. Do his parents know about you?

Well first you need to know who has this problem with caste, him or his parents. And trust me girl, don't be dumb enough to date a guy who still believes in casteism. If he has no problem with your caste, i guess if you really want to be with him you can still have the relationship but be ready to leave him when the time comes.
But I'd advise you to not be with him since its clear that you dont have a future in this relationship. There are other fish in the sea. By continuining being with him and then leaving him will only hurt you.

Love is an important part of our life. Unlike other people, I won't suggest u to go for marrying that guy. I would that just ask urself if u love him more than ur family. Sometimes we take wrong paths without thinking about our future . Check if ur parents ra going to agree for him, if possible. If they r against it then never go for it. My young sister_in_law took a wrong path although our family accepet her but its almost 5yrs still her parents have not accepted them. I have seen her being lonely at all times. Everyone likes her, respects her but her one part is always alone. She cant visit her parents and other relatives. So whatever u do, Just think about all the aspects of life.
