The first electric clipper was developed on February 2, 1921 by the Wahl Clipper Corporation. This was the first clipper with the drive motor in the hand, rather than driven through a flexible shaft from a remote motor. This was a great improvement on former ways of cutting hair; the usual "scissors" took a long time and the electric clipper did the job in less than half the time.

The adventure that led to the electric hair clipper began 10 years before that, in 1911, when Leo J. Wahl experimented with an electromagnetic motor. On October 14, 1919 Leo J. Wahl applied for patents, such as the one below, and Wahl Manufacturing Company was born. This new Wahl Model 66 was more convinient to use than older hair clippers. and it was about half the price.

The Original Clipper Patented in 1919
After Leo J. Wahl bought all of the stock in Wahl Manufacturing Company, he renamed the business as a branch of Wahl Clipper Corporation. He immediately after worked directly with hair barbers across the country to design the most efficient and convenient hair clipper possible. In the early years, Wahl Clipper Corporation grew rapidly and improved the hair clipper consistently. Up to his death In 1957, Leo J. Wahl continued to innovate the hair clipper and create revolutionary products for the field. The legacy of Wahl Clipper Corparation continued after his death, as the family continued the tradition of working to innovate the clipper. Among the many new products that the family invented were a variety of corded and cordless hair clippers, hair trimmers, facial hair groomers, hair dryers, shear sharpeners, a concentrate mixer, shears, brushes and combs. Most of these inventions came years before their time.

How old are you? I think I need to correct you:

What your question SHOULD have said is:

"Can you please tell me how electric hair clippers work?

I would appreciate it if you could tell me everything about them, including but not limited to; Why they were created, How they work, Why they work, How to use them, And whatever information is deemed relevant. I thank you very much.

I would like to note that I am a slacking teenager who has no desire to fufill her life because I am expecting others to do my work for me. I deserve the F grade I am about to get because I have done no research nor received any information about my project on my own, and am relying on the backs of the masses to do my homework for me. This just proves that I am a typical, lazy teenager who will most likely be flipping your hamburgers in the next six years. Thank you for your consideration, and would you like fries with that?"

Done.
