check with your friend why their relationship ended, if there are no issues at any of the side can frankly ask Ur friend's opinion about it, in future also their ex relationship should not bother u emotionally.

It's only a problem if your friend trips about it.
Might suggest not bringing it up for conversation when you two are hanging out together.
