I wouldn't say it's wrong to fall in love but you are definately crossing a few boundries. I think you need to sit down and discuss this with them. Let your friend know that you are having feelings for her ex. Ask their permission to see if you can explore the possibillity of having somthing with her ex. Try and remember they are exes for a erason there might be things to the relationship that they havn't told you. SO if they say somthing negative towards them try and take it with faith knowing that your friend knows this person more intimately. Like I said just discuss it with them.

Just put yourself in your best friend's shoes,if you took the least grudge at the thought of his falling love with your ex,then it definitely is wrong.

It really depends on how strongly you feel. If your best friend means a lot to you, you may want to consider his/her feelings before piercing his/her heart with a dull piece of rebar.

No, if your friend is comfortable with the idea. If you know your friend has no longer feelings for this person, discuss it with him/her and if it is OK, go ahead.
