I don't know much about this topic but have spent a few weeks reading up on it and trying different software but cannot find anything to work. The best I have done is to convert the file to an mpeg but without the sound... Am stuck, any help would be appreciated.

Try using Super DVD Creator 8.5, its easy and can play dvd in most players. Try searching it and download the software. for serials just look in serialnews.com

Have you tried using AnyDVD or DVDfab Express, Gold or Platinum? You can get either of them using a free trial. If you decide they are not for you, after the trial period..you can just delete them from you computer. AnyDVD has a 21 day trial...and Dvdfab has a 30 day trial.
Get AnyDVD from www.slysoft.com
Or get DVD fab from dvdfab.com
