In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Hello!! :o) A good question. [And I respect how you thought it through] All good liars know that a good lie must have SOME truth in it. Otherwise - no one would ever believe the lie. But as someone else said - Satan can be 'correct - but never 'right'. No matter what - Satan is ALWAYS trying to lead you down the wrong path. Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

Why not, he was a important guy in God's community:

In the Bible the one named Satan (also the Devil) is shown to be an angel who rebelled against God— the one who spoke through the serpent and seduced Eve into disobeying God's command. He is described throughout the Bible as hating all mankind. His ultimate goal is to lead people away from the love of God— to lead them to fallacies which God opposes. Satan is also identified as the accuser of Job, the tempter of the Gospels, the secret power of lawlessness in 2 Thessalonians 2:7, and the dragon in the Book of Revelation. It is widely believed that before his insurrection, Satan was the highest of all angels and the "brightest in the sky." His pride is considered a reason why he would not bow to God as all other angels did, but sought to rule heaven himself. He is called "the ruler of the demons" (Matt. 12:24); "the ruler of the world" and even "the god of this world." (2Cor. 4:4) The book of Revelation describes how Satan will be cast out of Heaven, down to the earth, having "great anger" and waging war against "those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus." Ultimately, Satan is thrown forever into the "lake of fire" (Revelation 20:10), not as ruler, but as one among many, being treated no different than all the others who have been cast there as well.

One of Satan's tools in his deceptions is in using truth mixed with subtle error. Like when he tempted Jesus after his 40 fast, he used correctly quoted Scripture, but he interpreted it incorrectly (probably knowingly).

Satan knows a great deal of what is going on in God's plan as well as God's designs. So, it is not surprising that he would know that Adam & Eve's eyes would be opened and that they would become, in some respect, like God. But he was careful not to reveal the consequenses of disobedience.

he was right in the fact that thier eyes were opened but as one of Gods spirit creatures he would have known more than Adam and Eve did so he wasn't right he had more knowledge than them.

2 corith 11 v 14 says
no wonder, for satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light

satan has the ability to make you think he is right that doesn't make him right

Yes. Satan is right everytime he chooses someone to tempt and that person falters. The Bible speaks of Satan walking in Heaven with God and talking with Him. Satan's downfall was wanting to be equal with God. Being in sin does not mean that you lose your ability to be right or wrong. It just means that you have sinned and have turned away from God.

Satan is always wrong. humans were not meant to be like God. and if satan said "be like the Gods".. there is only one God. and if the bible says that too.. there is something wrong there. sorry to say. no offense. what was said is actually referring to Adam and Eve. I believe that they were made, were naked in heaven, God asked the angels to bow to them as something something. satan wud not bow for he was too proud and dint want to. so he was condemned to hell. adam and eve were forbidden to eat the fruit from the tree. a snake came one day and told eve, "if u eat from that tree, u will get all the power like God. And u were forbidden to eat it because God doesnt want u to have powers like him." so temptation got over her and she ate and gave adam to eat. im sure u all know this story. then God got angry, and sent them to earth. satan was the cause of us not being in heaven right now. how can u believe such a thing? oh and after having the fruit from the tree, adam and eve was aware of them both being naked and was shameful, hid behind something. and when God came, he asked why they are hiding, so blah blah.. u get my point.. hope it helps. satan or the bible was wrong to say that. look back in history

Yes . He can be made to tell the truth sometimes but you still have to be careful of how you phrase your question and read between the lines .
Yes that part may have been known that one of them would give in sooner or later.
the rest is a half truth. God said that ADAM and EVE had to be taken out of the GARDEN of EDEN least they eat of the fruit of the TREE OF LIFE which was also in the GARDEN and become like unto GODS.

Satan is much more intelligent than we are, so it's easy for him to use half-truths to confuse humans. As far as man knowing good from bad, i think the events that happen everyday prove otherwise. Isaiah 5;20 even mentions woe to those who r saying good is bad and bad is good. i've even heard that expression used for a movie trailer, sigh.

Nothing in the Bible implies that everything Satan says is untrue, but it does say that his ultimate purposes are Evil.
