I've always been impressed with the Amish and have often thought the whole world could learn a thing or two from them. Their reaction to this horrible tragedy is not surprising and it shows just how strong and "real" they are in their faith. At the very least, we should all try to remember these images and the grace with which they've handled themselves in the event that any horrible tragedy touches our own lives.

I don't know bc i wasn't raised Amish. It outrages me that someone could be so cold hearted to take out a stupid grudge from 20 years ago on anyone. Especially people who had nothing to do with it. What was so a bad that he had to take it out on a bunch of innocent girls. If i remember correctly the guy was a 32 yr old milk truck driver. That would have made him twelve 20 yrs ago.

My mom told me not to believe anything I heard and only half of what I see. I saw the Amish people on TV who said they would forgive the killer; but last year when my sister took a picture of an Amish Man with his horse and wagon, he chased her down the street with a pitch fork.

Fascinatingly rude for the press to shove cameras in their faces, don't you think? what do you expect them to do, break down and wail and blubber like some celebrities do?

I wouldn't be able to. I admire them greatly and just don't know how they can do it! i suppose being that way is the only way they know though. It must require a huge amount of self discipline.

The Amish are to be respected. They need our prayers. They lost their little girls and it's heartbreaking.

They are pretty amazing people. Their handling of the situation just goes to show how deep their faith runs. This is the security that faith provides.

That was when the cameras were on them, honey. I'm sure they're less calm when they're not being watched. And that is just fine.
