Would it be bad if you suddenly discovered he wasn't monogamous? Why would it matter if you weren't married? (Aha! so it IS important!)

That commitment is about trust, and giving your trust to someone else. The wedding is just a ceremony. The marriage describes the DEPTH of your relationship to one another.

Is it just about sex? How do you know it isn't? What if you want to have his children? Do you know that he's going to stick around? Will he commit then? If he does, is he just doing it because of the children?

All paths lead somewhere. Where does your relationship (with one foot out the door for each of you) lead? Where would you like it to lead?

How real are you both to one another? How important?

It is scandolus, goes against the norms of the society and brings along other problems.

Tax benifits, Relationship, Placement in a Will and a bunch of other things are missing from it. Also if a child develops the father is unknown.

This way you always have one foot out the door. You are thinking if I find something better I can leave, You are not really commited to each other.

It's not bad, and in some countries the couple share similar securities in law as those of conventionally married couples.

I believe that whole social experiment of living together and not committing to marriage has been a bad experience for a lot of people - ie children living with no father etc.

Commitment and loyalty is something we don't seem to have too much of as a society anymore.

It is not bad. Society tells us that it's bad. I hope that you do what makes you happy. You only have one life to live, don't dwell on other people's actions and judgments. Focus on what you want to do and focus on YOUR actions. Who cares what people will say? When it's all said and done, it doesn't matter. Nothing matters. So enjoy your life.

Sex isn't just a physical act. It's a spiritual act as well. We
are helping our Creator to create LIFE!
It creates real spiritual energies, and one might bring bad
karma down on themselves for it later.
If they are just using somebody that is, or hurt someone in the
long run.
See what I'm sayin'?

"Shacking up" is a bad deal for everyone, but particularly the woman.

Ask anyone who's tried it.

God knows, people deserve better.

because neither thechurch or the state has gotten the money they think they deserve from your union. Marriages are taxed by both and you just aren't paying your taxes!
