In my late teens I abandoned the religious teachings of my parents and worshiped Satan. After a few years I realized my horrible mistake and repented. It was a stupid, stupid mistake, one that I have regretted for many many years. Will God forgive me or am I lost forever.

You have let God know even now by the way you are feeling that you genuinely want forgiveness for your actions. God will forgive you, there is no need to worry about being lost forever, stand by God and follow in his footsteps and he will forever be there with you to help you along the most trying times in your life. I know by personal experience how it feels after doing a very wrong thing, there is the endless feeling of guilt and sorrow but when i repented and asked God for his forgiveness there was this huge weight lifted off my shoulders, and i cried for i felt ashamed that the fact that he is so powerful and great and that what i had done was so wrong that he would still love me, and forgive me. After that particular time, i wanted to do nothing more than serve him, love him and just strive to be the best person that i can be. God loves you, and he doesn't want to lose you and i'm sure he is very grateful with the great turn around that you have made in your life, it can only improve from now on. God bless you. =)

I'm a Christian, so here's my Christian opinion:

You are not lost forever!!! There are millions of people who went the wrong way, but later returned back to God. Worshiping Satan is a sin, but in the bible, it is said that all sins are equal under the sight of God. And we all sin, so if you go to hell for it, we all do. But in the bible, it emphasises the truth that God is a "forgiving" God. Repent and you shall be forgiven. And you have repented, so you've been forgiven. You had once gone astray from God, but you have now returned. So what's there to worry about??

God is so willing to forgive....there are very few sins which are not forgiven. If you have truly ask for forgiveness the bible tell us that God throws it into the sea of forget fullness and remembers it no more. Satan must be the one bringing it up and trying to tell you what you have in Christ Jesus is not real.. Don't believe the accuser of the brethren, he comes to kill, steal and destroy. I am so happy that you have Jesus and every time the devil brings up your past tell him that you are saved by the blood of JESUS, and keep telling him until he goes, better yet start praising God out loud and thanking Him for saving you.

Are you asking if God will forgive you for worshiping Satan? Sure. That's his gig.

Will he forgive you for lying about worshiping Satan so you and some Christian friends can toss off some glib answers using other IDs trying to trick people?

Possibly, but I wouldn't bet money on it.

That depends. I think the Christian god forgives all, but I know for a fact that Allah does not forgive those who worship other gods, even if they try to repent. And when you say you worshipped Satan, do you mean you actually worshipped him, or that you were a LaVeyan Satanist, like myself? HUGE difference.

The Christianic religion likes to sow 'seeds' of a metaphoric speaking and even when you adapt to a different religion the 'seed' remains inside and makes you feel guilt, regret, and sadness for what you choose upon your own free will. I was brought up in a Christianic household and they literally forced me to believe and obey without question.(Of course....I asked questions anyway) I ended up being a spiritualist who is a non-Christian and studied many different religions. (Old Wicca,Satanism,Budhism,Hinduism, just a few examples) You should not have any guilt for the path you feel that is best for you. I hope this helps you out.

casey,
If you want to come to God, that's Him choosing you. Those that aren't the slightest bit interested are those that He is not calling. They aren't able to get it. That means Good News for you my friend!

John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Also, you are not trying to hide your sin! Hiding sin is evidence of those that do not love the light. Be confident therefore, and claim the salvation that you have returned for.

Remember the prodigial son?

I do not believe in God or Satan, so you cannot be punished by either. In Christianity, Satan is 'evil' and God is 'good'. To me they are just two entities I do not believe exist. Whoever you worship, understand why you are worshipping before you start. Is fear of death driving you? Or are your 'friends'?

Yes, God will forgive you. Just ask Him. (I would have tole you to ask for forgiveness and to repent, but you took care of that already) Once you are forgiven, you are forgiven. Don't let Satan tell you that He can't forgive you or that, after you have asked for forgiveness, He hasn't forgiven you.

You will only be lost until you come into a personal relationship with God through Jesus.
