I like aruel's answer because that's what makes me happy. But if you truly want to make people happy just listen and try to put your self in their shoes. I know it sounds cheezy but I find that being sincere is one of the best traits that a good friend can have and what makes people happier than the feeling of being loved by someone other than themselves.

People can be made happy by appreciating them and their looks (even if they are ugly). If they are women, then there is nothing else except explaining how beautful they are, just like that.

by telling jokes,by doing good deeds like for e.g. helping them doing their work if they are elders or youngers.be obedient to elders and be cheerful and perky for youngers.
