No, hair grows at the rate it wants.

The whole reason that I started HairBoutique.com almost ten years ago was because I felt responsible for providing hair consumers with the absolute truth about their hair.

When I see articles on the Web that advertise that they can help you grow long hair fast I totally cringe. The real truth is that there are absolutely no short cuts (no pun intended) to growing long hair fast.

If I had a dollar for the hundreds of thousands of emails I have received over the past ten years asking me how to achieve "fast long hair" I would not be sitting here writing this "truth in advertising" article.

Yes, there are many things you can do to maximize your God-given genetic hair growth cycle but if someone promises that you can go from a chin length bob to bra-strap length hair "fast" there is something missing.

So really, what is fast anyway? Is fast overnight, within a month or just a bit quicker than your genetic programming allows?

There are many things that can stall natural hair growth. The hair growth stallers can include poor diet, too much caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, recreational drugs or other natural vitamin robbers.

Stress, age, health problems and prescription drugs can also slow or stall hair growth. Climate has a hand in growth rates along with lifestyle issues. Not enough sleep, daily water or maintenance nutrients can cause hair to hit a dead stop in its growth cycle.

To simplify the hair growth process and promise fast long hair is just not a reality. At least in this current Universe.

okay, there is NO miricle drug that gives you rapunzel locks over night. BUT there are alot of things that affect hair growth. Diet, water intake, using the right shampoo and conditioners, getting the split ends taken care of often, and vitamins that specifically YOUR body needs. Everything you put into your body will make a difference to your hair, good or bad! Hormones also do CRAZY things to your body including your hair. But I am a huge fan of Biotin! It is incredibly cheap, an average 30+day supply around $4.00. Then there are things you can do to keep it from breaking off as much too...DON'T WEAR TIGHT PLASTIC RUBBER BANDS! Use a satin cap, or pillow case to sleep on, because your hair will get caught in the woven cotton and break it off while you are sleeping. Don't just scrape through it with a brush, start from the ends of your hair and work your way up with a wide toothed comb, then use a boar bristled brush from scalp to ends. Stay away from harsh chemicals, including, the wrong shampoo and conditioners. Hair usually grows 1/4 inch per month. Doing all these things may not make your hair grow but maybe 1/3 inch per month. But, the hair that does grow, will not break off, and you will see signifigant results. Realize though that, hormones, and genetics also play a role in hair growth, as well as excessive stress. Take care of YOU, baby your hair that you DO have, and you will see results within a couple of weeks...or even less! Good luck

well the best thing to use is a best conditioner like pantene pro-v, fructis, palmolive... just wrap the conditioner on your hair in a towel and let it work over night. this will over nurish the hair causing the hair to force growth faster. also, eating healthy fruits, drinking loads of water and sleeping at least 10 hours a night helps of the overall growth and cycle of hair sprouting. and yes, eating dates and aloe vera helps the hair grow healthier too.

what i do is when i use conditioner (use a good brand like Pantene Pro-V) put a little bit on the top of your head but the majority on the bottom...this helps dryness to make your hair healthier. also be sure to wash ur hair super well and get a trim 2 times a year.
