I've used the bidding function of Priceline.com before and had some sucess. You have to be flexible about times, airlines etc. but you can get a great deal. The other thing is I go to a site like Cheaptickets, find their lowest advertised rate then go to that airlines site and put in the same flight info to see if I can get it cheaper. I have save up to $100 that way. Remember, redeye flights save you money! :-D

Depends on where you are flying from. Xmas time is very expensive, see if you can leave a bit earlier than the 22nd of Dec.

If you are flying on the east coast or west coast, try JETBLUE.com....they have great cheap rates from NY and Cali, plus you get a leather seat, and 36 channels of DirecTv on the flight for free.

Otherwise, check out cheaptickets, orbitz, expedia, southwest.com
Good luck

I have found that the best place is http://www.hotwire.com
They willl garantee you a flight on the day you want for the BEST price out there BUT they will not reveal the airline until AFTER you pay for the ticket ...

Hello:

Go to http://www.grab2travel.com
Go to Flights section.

Try "SmartSearch" feature. You can enter your trip detail once and can compare rates on multiple major travel sites from one place. I like it.. You can add it into favorite for future use..to avoid hassel..
