Like I mean if you chase it, and it gets scared and hides. Do you think what will happen eventually?

yes !! if you keep chasing it for no reason it will end up being afraid of you, try to play with it the cat and you will end up as friends and get on well together.. never stare at your cats eyes as they see this as a challenge and will attack your face they like
to be rubbed behind the ears and under the chin also stroked
down the back. so try being nice to your cat you will have a friend for life.if not it will run away every time it sees you...

Honestly, it has never occurred to me to chase my cats every day. Sure... I trip over them everyday, but I rarely chase them. OK, I do chase them when they have stolen something off my plate (usually a nice piece of steak)... but that is a once-in-a-while thing. Oh, and when they have somehow managed to get their paws on a live mouse ... THEN I chase. And yes, cats DO get resentful if you chase them and then valiantly attempt to pry either some sirloin ... or a nice juicy mousie ... out of their mouths. Our cats show their resentment by either ignoring us, or coughing up a hairball on our new bedspread.

If you or someone you know is spending their free time chasing cats, I would politely like to suggest a NEW, more animal-friendly hobby. Perhaps bowling? Or watching wrestling on television? Or collecting beer bottles ... anything. (Just leave the kitty alone, ok?)

Don't be surprised when your resentful cat barfs on your bed. You have been warned.

Stop chasing the cat. It'll not only resent you, but it'll also fear you. It won't know what your doing and will not be healthy for a cat. I suggest that you try and get the cat to come to you. When the cat walks by you can call it, or hold out your hand for the cat to sniff. Offer the cat food or treats. And let the cat jump into your lap, or rub against your leg before you try and pick it up again. That way you and your cat can form a healthy relationship

Don't ever chase your cat! Only if they are sick, ran outside, or needs medication should you corner it. They are running away from you for a reason. It WILL resent you for a long time if you continue this. Leave your baby alone for a few months and it just might come to you! Let him/her feel safe.

Cats love to play, but also need their alone time, much moreso than many other animals, IMHO. If you chase the cat every time you see it, it will become either fearful, angry, or both. Give the cat the chance to choose whether it wants to come to you. Based on what you've said, it may take a bit, but the cat needs to learn to trust you. There is no animal more loyal than a cat that trusts you, but it's a little harder to earn that trust than with some animals.

he'll be afraid of you, when my cat is having one of his "high" moments he likes to be chased around and my boyfriend takes advantage of that. But when he's calm and content he will get scared if chased and he will hold a grudge for awhile until my b/f offers a truce...it will be a very skidish cat in the long run, and they will eventually turn mean!

Why on earth do you chase your cat every day? & scare him/her? This doesn't make any sense. If this isn't another
mean joke, I hope the next time you chase your cat, it runs away & finds someone who will be good to it.

Odd ... why on earth are you "chasing" your cat? Yes, of course it will resent you. Like us, they have feelings too. Would you resent someone, if they were to "chase" you all the time?
