It's never too late, though it can be too early. But if you neuter after doggie puberty, there is a chance that your dog could become very fat, because all the energy once used for mating and pursuit of mates, testosterone production (Which actually takes a surprising amount of calories) is no longer needed. That, and sometimes the lack of testosterone itself can cause weight gain.

It is never to late. If the dog has health problems and the vet feels it would put the dog at risk the vet will not do it. Take the dog to the vet and ask for the full surgical profile on the dog before the surgery, the profile will tell you if there is any health problems. Good Luck.

It's never too late, unless he's in poor health. The sooner the better. There are already too many animals in this world that don't have homes. Not spaying or neutering is irresponsible.

i'll help you a little since everyone said never.

it is okay to neuter a dog when he is older but the best time is around 6 months. they are mature enough not to freakout too much with the conecollar. and i heard that if you get it done when they are older they have a lot of accidents in the house.

It is too late if when he:
-is very old and ill
-already has testicular cancer
-been run over because he has been roaming
-shot because he ventured onto a farmers property looking for a mate
-has broken through fences getting to the pedigree female a block away.

It is too early before 8 weeks of age.

Hope this helps.

Never. I believe there is a time which is too EARLY but never too late. The sooner you get it done the better as long as the dog is over 6 months. This will help prevent testicular cancer and also prostate cancer.

Never! And it's always a great idea.
The dog is happier when it's not always in heat, you don't have to mess with trying to get rid of puppies, dogs are over populated anyway. You doggy won't run away in hopes of mating.

If he is old and sleepy all day, you might want to prevent him from getting neutered because he might die. Probably he is too old.
