why is it so darn hard to get the jehova whitnesses to leave me alone?
they keep showing up at my door at the rate of at least once a week and no matter what i say they keep coming back.
i have tried asking nicely for them to stop and have been getting more and more fustrated.
what should i do?
they come by at the most inopertune times.

i have nothing against them pesonally but i just wish they would leave me in peace.

i asked this question to get an answer on how to make them stop and the 26th answer was from one trying to preach to me.
o.k. i know that the internet is open game but i should at least be safe from intrusion in my own home.

If you can't get them to leave you alone you could at least have fun with them while they are there. Make up weird **** and just try to piss them off that's what I would do. Or maybe in return come up with some weird *** philosophical questions to ask them I mean there is nothing more invasive than coming to a complete strangers door and asking them what they think about religion in their own lives. Maybe even try to convert them to Christianity that would be funny.

Listen, I'm a Jehovah's Witness and proud to be doing the work the Jesus Christ said that all of his followers ( that means all Christians... haven't seen any of you at MY door lately....hmmm...) would be doing in the last days before Armeggedon. The signs of the end of the days are upon us and we are doing what Jesus Christ told us to do. If you don't like it, that is cool- just don't act like children over it and play stupid games. It only wastes your time and ours. There are several ways around this problem that you can choose from;
1: Go the sigh route and put up a sign about NO RELIGIOUS CALLERS, PLEASE.
2. The next time one of my Brothers or Sisters calls on you, very nicely ask them to put you down on our house to house list as a PERMENANT "DO NOT CALL " . Then you might see someone in 5 or 6 years checking to see if you've moved or died or something. But not as often as you claim.
3. POLITELY call the Kingdom Hall on a Meeting night ( drive by, read and schedule )and ask for a Brother and have him make a record of your address in the records ( maps ) as a Perm. Do not call. It'll be taken care of and you can go on your way without a care in the world. Cool? Good....
As for opening the doors naked or dressed freaky or acting wierd, Honey, I've seen it all. Nekkid men/ women, a man in a chicken suit , a woman in a bright orange caftan with a rainbow wig on for no occassion, a nudist colony, a buddist monastary, a man who pulled a pistol on me and another who shook a shotgun at me. Buddy, I've been through it all. You guys don't scare me! LOL
All we want to do is what Jesus told us to do, and that is to share with you the great hope that the Bible holds out for mankind. And that is the promise of everlasting life in a paradise Earth that Jehovah God had originally intended for Adam and Eve to populate and fill the Earth with. A life without crime or poverty or sickness or death. We want to encourage people to read their Bibles and find and learn about these great promises that God has given us and share them with YOU that might not have found them yet.
NOW, what is so WRONG with that?

Well, it sounds as if you live in the secular world, so handle it that way.
Get their names and church address and file for a restraining order after having made harassment claims against them.
Call the police as soon as they come up the driveway or if you do not see them coming, as soon as they knock and you see that it is them. Even if they are not in your doorway anymore when the police get there, they should certainly still be in the neighborhood.
Generally the Witnesses like to do this on Sunday mornings, when the people who are at home would most likely be non believers or luke warm christians without a personal relationship and walk with God, so if you didnt' want to go through the hassle of the red tape secular world, you could always go to church on Sunday mornings and avoid them all together.

I once heard of a sweet old grandmother who would get rid of JWs by smiling and saying, "I'm sorry, I don't give a damn about Jesus".
If they don't respond to friendly requests, then you're well within your rights to get rude. Just say, "I'm not interested, leave now and don't come back". Then close the door in their faces. Shouldn't take you more than five seconds.

if you get a good answer let me know. one of them visited me the other day, I work nights so i had to get outta bed to answer the door for this! I was so mad. Its almost like harassment. They should have something like a do not call list for these people!!!
telling them your not interested does not work, they come back with more!!

You could try posting a "No Soliciting" sign. I have seen places that sell " No Proselytizing" signs as well.
If you have asked them to stop dropping in and they refuse to respect your wishes, you may need to be a bit firmer in your request.

Do not answer the door. You may want to post "no solicitors" on the door for a while too. We always used to do this, and frankly, you are doing them a favor.

Tell them you have different beliefs and would appreciate it if they would respect that. Look them in the eye, try not to blink and be serious and affirmative. Then you close the door.
Trust me, this work. (now I can work on my car Sunday mornings in peace)

Put up a sign on your door that says "No Jehovah's Witnesses". My mom did that and they never bugged her again.

Put a sign on your door that says " We shoot every third Jehovah's Witness that knocks on our door. PS; The second one just left." I did that for salesmen and it worked great.
