Are Isuzu's a durable, long lasting make?

Some Isuzu trooper are called Acura LXS LX or some like that
I've a 95 Isuzu Trooper,3.2L,5 speed.I have since Nov 99.I just love it even better than my '05 Cavalier.My trooper let me down 3 times so far.

Well since no one got it right.....I'll give the answer since I am in the car biz field.
Isuzu's are not made by Toyota. Isuzu actually has made very few auto's over the years but normally takes other vehicles and rebadges them as their own.
Isuzu did make a winner with the Rodeo and when Honda wanted to get into the SUV market they first bought the Rodeo and rebadged it as the Honda Passport.
Isuzu and Toyota have no relationship and as far as I know they have never swapped a vehicle either way.
GM does not own Isuzu. But they do have a share in Isuzu. Being this said, it is why Isuzu now has the Chevy Trailblazer as one of their SUV's.
To the person that said Mazda copies Ford. Umm, Ford owns Mazda and has for a while now. They also own Volvo. Many think the Ford Ranger is a Ford when actually its a Mazda pick up that is rebaged for Ford as the Ranger. Sorry die hard Ford folks...your beloved truck is a foreign vehicle.
Toyota does own Scion and Lexus. Scion is their lower line of vehicles that are stripped down of many options and marketed towards kids. Toyotas are markted for middle aged people and Lexus is marketed to older, richer people.
Now is Isuzu a good vehicle....depends on which vehicle you are speaking of. If its the Rodeo....sure. If its like the Impulse car...nah as this was actually the Geo Storm which was a division of GM. Now some say nah, that was a Lotus. Sorry, read the fine print under the back badge...."engine only by lotus". And it wasn't an impressive engine to begin with.
Now if you are looking at new Isuzu....save your money. The new Ascender is the Chevy Trailblazer. The pick up trucks are the Silverado and Colorado also by Chevy.
Suzuki is also a company like Isuzu...doesn't really make their own cars but rebadges others and sells them as their own. The Chevy Equinox is a Suzuki SUV.
And last.....the new Chevy Aveo....thats just a Daihatsu, GM bought them out. Now remember Daihatsu dealers didn't go over well in the states yet GM is selling the Aveo.

Isuzu's are as good if not better than toyota in engine and front end durability without the bells & whistles.Isuzu is cheaper because it has less extras such as power windows & stuff like that.Toyota and Isuzu are totally seperate companys,hope this helps.
I live in Jamaica where the roads are terrable so i know what i am talking about.You have to have tough vehicles in this place.

Isuzu's are there own make...they just copy Toyota's automobiles....as Mazda does to Ford.....they are a good automobile....long lasting....I'm really not sure about the dependency of the make
