It would be naive on any ones part to claim that one has the ability to detect an illegal alien. There are behavioral patterns that such individuals display which could easily lead one to a conclusion of this nature. Nevertheless, these 'conclusions' are often mistaken and are usually related to each individuals personal characteristics and temperamental traits. As you previously mentioned, we are all God's children and we all have the privilege of eternal life apart from sin through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Well, first of all, standing outside HD all day does not indicate an illegal. I know for a fact that some of them are legal - born and raised here, and still don't speak English so that theory is out too. There is no way to tell if someone is legal - fake ID's are not just for 16 year olds. It's funny how issues come up in election years. It's just another tree to keep us from seeing the forest.
This has been a problem for a long time and the solution is not simple as shipping them home and building a wall. People think that we can just come up with a solution and put it into action but none of the ideas are reasonable or possible. Talk to people truly impacted by this issue, talk to the people who live on the border, they will tell you it isn't so simple. And then you hear from the people who say they're "stealing American jobs" yeah right - how many people do you know that will go out and pick veggies all day in 110+ degrees for less than minimum wage? Really. And how many people do you know who've lost a job to someone who can't speak english? Really. And if there are companies that hire cheap illegal labor for regular jobs, well then it's not the fault of the illegals - it's the company, blame them - they have the choice of hiring illegals or hiring Americans. They don't HAVE to hire illegals. If it's a money issue, then maybe some Americans have to take less pay to get that job. Bottom line is that issues in Mexico need to be fixed before we can stop them from finding a way to come here. But the main thing that really peeves me, but no one ever talks about - many of OUR companies move their factories down there so they can take advantage of cheap labor - how's that for "taking a job from an American" ? Think about it, it's worse than the illegals coming here taking the jobs we don't want - not only are they taking jobs away from Americans, but they're exploiting workers in Mexico, thereby perpetuating the poverty that exists there. Stop the big companies from sending work down there and we'll have tons more jobs here - but no one talks about that, do they? They talk about all the "grunt" jobs that no American would want anyway because the people who are qualified for those jobs think they're too good to do them (go figure) and if they did think about taking a job like that, they'd want a LOT more money and we'd end up paying $5.00 for a head of lettuce.

the only thing i can spot and this if from the people who are responding.are plenty of uneducated morons who have nothing better to do but focus on others. i have been around plenty of people who don't speak the language, they very from Germans, to Orientals to Hispanics and not once have i ever wondered if he or she were undocumented aliens.....
its funny that so many complain about undocumented aliens, but there are the ones doing all of our hard labor, for example, taring roofs, laying tile, cleaning yards, building homes all for a very low minimal wage. most don't even have health insurance.......
lets all try and focus on things that really matter, like all the killing in our high schools, the drug abuse, the Hatred. those are things we should be worried about.

your illegal aren't you? It's not that americans hate them its the fact they they work so cheap they are bringing down wages Ex: Construction jobs have always been decent pay in our area, a union worker makes between 15-30 dollars per hour, well why would the employer want to hire them at that wage when they can hire an illegal immigrate for $7 an hour, cash under the table which means they aren't paying taxes and they send the money back home to thier families which means the money isn't going back into the american economy. Thats just 1 problem, they need to go through the proper channels to be here legally Do you think they would want us in there country doing the same thing. I can assure you they wouldn't.

I think it would be impossible to be able to spot an illegal alien just by looking at them. It's ignorant for somebody to even think they'd have the capability to do this. People need to grow up and quit with the racist stereotyping. It's sad and just makes these people look ignorant.

Thats such a good point...They always say, I saw an illegal do this, I saw an illegal do that, but how the heck do they know if they are illegal? Its just racial profiling....Thats like me saying I saw a poor black and I know he is on welfare....bull! I don't know anything about that person....HE MAY NOT EVEN BE POOR LOL
There are a lot of wealthy people who dress like bums, I know, my boss who is a millionaire looks like a street bum, go figure...

It doesn't matter to whom you write about the immigration problem. No one wants to lose that vote. How many of us have voiced our feelings about the war in Iraq? What will be done soon? Nothing.

Not till you talk to them. You are missing the whole point. The UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT made a LAW limiting the # of Latin American people who were allowed to come here. They did NOT say that people from Latin American countries could not come here. They said that only a few thousand the problem is that its millions . ITS THE SHEER # of people from those countries coming here. ITS NOT JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE LATIN. GET IT RIGHT.

Good question. Their is another irony in this situation. Without illegal immigrates to pick vegetables, how much would lettuce cost? Who would pick the Artichokes and how expensive would it they be?
