You can I'm not going to stop you. But, that is such a BAD idea. Keep it clean and moisturized not dried up peeling and itching and burning and......whatever do what you want.

f.y.i the reason these questions irritate me is because unless you got the tat at a drive-thru :( why didn't you learn this from your artist.

No. Unless you like alittle pain. The only thing you are supposed to put on a recent tatoo is vaseline or neosporin. You dont want the tatoo to dry up and scab up since the ink could come up with the scab and you would have to go and get the work redone. Or go around with a piece missing from the work you had done. The vaseline keeps the area from scabbing up and the germs out while it heals. Why would you want to put alcohol on it anyway?

Look, just keep it clean, and as close to normal moisture as possible. If it's too dry, it'll get scabby, if it's too wet, it'll get mushy. Don't use alcohol, that'll hurt like a *****! I understand you shouldn't use neosporin, either. Something like A&D for the first couple of days (sparingly) and after that, a good, alcohol-free lotion. Lubriderm is good, and Tattoo Goo makes both an ointment and a lotion. And don't wrap it in Saran wrap, your skin needs to breathe.

i would not do that ever!it will make the tat dry out too fast.that will deter the healing process badly.put triple antibiotic ointment on it.wash w/soft soap or ivory.no perfumed soaps at all untill its healed.your tat artist should've given you thorough instructions for proper care before leaving.if they didnt, don't go back there again.a true artist cares about all work whether they ever see it again or not!

I wouldn't do that. My tattoo artist has me wash mine with an anti-bacterial soap such as dial and then wrap it with saran wrap. It helps the tattoo to heal on its own. After about of week then he has me us lubridrum lotion for the dryness

alcohol dries the skin out by removing essential oils. Try using vaseline or something similar.

I would not recommend doing that. Your supposed to use a product like Soft Soap for a few weeks until it fully heals.

I agree with leviathia. how do artists get away with not telling their customers these things???

NO neosporin
NO rubbing alcohol
NO peroxide

A&D and bag balm are your friends (even a bit of polysporin is ok). follow that with non-scented lubriderm or curel (though I suggest curel).

OOOooooh! That may burn if it is open at all- and depending how sensitive your skin is- how about mild soap and water and a over the counter antibiotic ointment if you think you need it- Take care -D

You can but. If you do you are stupid. Alchohol wants the pull foriegn things from you're body such as INK. So dont do that. Get some A&D ointment.
