I think folks are confused about praying. I mean, certainly focused intention can be helpful, but I think the Universe sends whatever we think - particularly what we are sure about or think a lot about. If we say again and again "I can't afford that" it will be true. If we think over and over again "Everyone is so nice to me" it will be true. If we are certain that we will have a heart attack because everyone in our family has, it will come to be.
Thoughts become things and we get what we expect in this world. That is what i meant by praying - not the classic kneeling child with hands together praying or begging god to do what we want.
Peace!

Of course. God is good. He provides that which we know not that we need. I only learned today that He protected me a couple of weeks ago from an unjust legal system. I didn't even know there was a problem, and so COULD not pray about it.

Earn money and buy it, find someone else to buy it for you or steal it.
What's this praying stuff all about, if you think that works, then pray for a better knowledge of English, so that you can spell RECEIVE.

Let's look at it this way: provided everything in the bible is true, God provides us with everything we need, so praying for it is rather petty since we'll get it anyway, right?
Let's say you get something you want without having prayed for it......be happy it fell into your lap. Share it with someone, that way you'll be even happier. (I'm serious).
All I ever pray for is "please let me not fall into temptation". So far my prayers have fallen onto deaf ears.

Praying will not get you anything. I beleive in a God though, and praying helps to calm me. It also helps to cheer me when I am low. I do not believe that God gets involved with us here. We are on our own while we are here.

I have never prayed, and yet I have received lots of things. If you work for them, or if you're a nice person, that will make the "miracle".

No. Unless you pray for it, everything will always be the opposite of what you want.
...and you can't trick god by trying to want the opposite of what you really want. He's magic and can see right through that.
