What's even more amusing is that his lawyer has convinced him to go into alcohol treatment, when everyone that knew him said that he wasn't a problem drinker. What does that smack of? He's a lying perv that is shifting the blame all over the planet.

Mark Foley is a Republican homophobic bigot and child molester. Like all Republicans his being a hypocrite is par for the course. To him claiming he was gay sounded better than admitting he's a child molester. The fact that the rest of the republicans knew about it really sets them apart as the party of family values.

I think he's trying to play the Victim card, and I think it's pretty low of him to do.

If he was truly molested, then that's a horrible crime and I hope the priest involved is punished and that Foley gets counseling if he needs it.

But to blame it for his "bad" behavior when it doesn't get any "credit" for him being able to succeed and get as far as he had is a cop-out, IMHO.

Personally what he said today was a pathetic excuse to play the blame game. At least he did say that he is taking full responsibility for his actions.

He probably was molested (abused).

Foley made sexual suggestions. I don't think he molested anyone.

Though, if he though he could, I bet he would.

I think the Democrats planted Foley in there, knowing he would let everything come out shortly before election day.

Shouldn't we be focusing on Foley being a perverted child molester?

If something hurt you or damaged you as a child, is that a good reason to do it to another child. I think not. Sense would say you would not want to hurt like you were hurt. He is making excuses.

The question should be...does that matter? He knows right from wrong...he was doing wrong...so was the page. I think that 16 is old enough to know that you shouldn't be talking to dirty old men.

I think he's lying to shift blame and cover his political butt. He's a complete fraud through and through.

it doesn't matter, its just a feeble excuse for being a pervert....he ought to go to jail for a long time...he used his position of power to intimidate and manipulate young men....he's a scumbag..
