Well, yeah, you hover over the toilet cause you feel like you got to go, actually, a lot of woman do go, by accident, because they are pushing so hard.

Okay, let me put this in perspective, if you have ever eaten REALLY spicy Mexican food, and had EXPLOSIVE diarrhea, times that by 2,000 and that's about like giving birth. Eat some SUPER hot food if you want to know what it's like.

Yes. many hospitals give women an enima before delivery because you are bearing down which will push out any feces too. It isn't exactly the same but that is probably the closest description to what it feels like. For many women it is also extremely painful. I was lucky and had my longest labor last a mere 22 minutes from start to finish and that baby was born vaginally butt first!!! My daughter was delivered by my husband because i had no labor pains, only a bad back ache until it was time to push.

The actual "pushing" that you do to push the baby out is the kind of pushing you do to make a bowel movement, yes. But the lower back pain that radiates all the way around to your abdomen kind of distracts you from the constipation feeling.

Man, let me tell you.....they DO have bowel movements when giving birth!
Its not a pretty site. Good thing the nurses are right on top of it when it happens. The bed gets changed quickly.

Thanks for the two points

Yes when the head is coming out it feels like that and it hurts like hell, its going to feel like some one is holding a lighter there and burning you, scared you need to be becuase there is no pain pain worse than giving birth to a child, after the head, its all cake work and its all worth it .

Yes, that person is 150% correct. It's like passing a 7lb 9oz bowel movement!! But, in the end it's 200% worth it!!!

When you actually start to push, you push like you would if you have to have a bowel movement, if that's what you meant.

since you asked about labour and NOT birth ;)

Yes the pressure of the baby changes during labour and actually presses against the rectum which causes the sensation of having to empty your rectum.

Also labour pains are similar to the worst stomach pain caused by food poisioning but in waves and multiplied by 1000 :)
