WOW....now that is a deep question. First, I agree with you, that there is a lot of prejudice throughout the races, not just in whites. I also think that whites get blamed for it the most, because in the past, their racism has been the most visible.
I think that it is physically impossible for an individual to not be prejudice at all. I can understand people not being racist, but prejudice is built into our very beings. We are taught from a very early age to fear the unknown. We are scared of the dark, and of the monster underneath our beds because it is the unknown to us. Prejudice is a natural human reaction to hearing rumers, and hearing different things from different people.
So, in my view,
Prejudice.....unescapable, but controllable
Racism....horrible and generally cruel

I also believe that all people have misconceptions about other cultures and races due to lack of knowledge or just plain ignorance. I have no doubt that a white child and a black child given the same social and economic advantages would be the same! Switch any race with either of those! People have a tendency to be negative about things they don't understand or know enough about...prejudice is about ignorance!

Of course we are. Ever since sin entered the world we have been afraid. We've been afraid of ourselves. How much more so aren't we afraid of people who are different from us. There was only one person who had no prejudices -- Jesus of Nazareth. He came to save all of us. That is why the heavens can sing,
"You are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased men for God
from every tribe and language and people and nation
(Revelation 5:9 NIV)."

I see the most racism coming from the Hispanics who support ILLEGAL ALIENS and their criminal activity....
They offer the race card because that is all that is in their deck..... and once they play a race card, they can't retrieve it... from that point on, they are not playing with a full deck....
