Quite simply;

Testing is the demonstration of satisfaction of requirements.

It is accomplished by gaining an understanding of how the project is expected to work, then devising a means by which to demonstrate this indeed happens.

This demonstration (the test plan) is divided into related elements (the test cases). Each of the elements have specific actions (test procedures) to be performed.

When performing the test, any discrepencies ("bugs") between what is expected to happen and what actually happens is noted for resolution.

Testers should be logical, creative and good communicators, both written and oral. They have to glean information from various sources to develop a plan. They'll need a general understanding of various elements of software, things like interfaces, databases, topology, etc... as well as the business needs for the project. Tact and diplomacy are useful.

As long as there is software, testing will be important, so the future is bright!

There are courses available which issue certificates, but if you're good, they are of little value.

There are many kinds of software testing. For some, inexperienced, non-technical people will do. For others, the opposite is true.

My experience has been that jobs are plentiful and the money is good.

After the programmers or engineers create a piece of software, testers are responsible for making sure that it works and also trying to break it before the product is shipped or released to customers. How do testers do that? Well, sometimes it's easy and there is a written specification for how the new product is supposed to work and how it responds if there is an error. Unfortunately, that is not always the case and testers must rely on their knowledge of how computers work, how software works and their intuition.

What are a tester's most important skills?
Knowing how and where to look for bugs (errors)
Knowing how to report the bug effectively so that an engineer can reproduce it quickly without being insulted by the way that the failure was communicated.

Software testing is a process of executing a program or application with the intent of finding the software bugs.
It can also provide an objective, independent view of the software to allow the business to appreciate and understand the risks of software implementation.

Software testing is the debugging process of software production. When a program is first created, its just about guaranteed to have problems called bugs. Testing and fixing them is a normal part of releasing the software. If you plan on doing this, I seriously suggest getting some knowledge of computer programming in more than one language. Right now, the most common language is .NET programming.

It's where you test....now get this.....SOFTWARE.

Go on google.com and do a search for "software beta testers" and you will find a slew of websites where you can sign up to test software. They usually just put you on a list and when they need you they notify you, send you the software and usually a questionaire to fill out. You report any "bugs" in the software, etc. Almost anyone can do it!

Protocol Testing refers to trying out the conformance of an program/approach to the protocol requirements as distinct within the legit protocol necessities like RFCs and so forth. There are a giant quantity of community protocols, and just a few of them applies to telecom programs. Telecom trying out is extra of an finish to finish prime degree verbal exchange trying out of telecom program/approach.
