There exists a theory that only white people can be racist, since they comprize the majority of the population (in the U.S.). Other races can only be prejudiced. However, in California there is no majority race, so I guess racism wouldn't exist in California.
I don't think most people subscribe to this theory, however. To most people, racial prejudice amounts to racism, and anybody is capable of it.

I think I was once told that in order to be racist you had to have the power. Meaning that the entire racist mantra would have to include the ability to keep another race down, use your power to discriminate against that other race. So, while as an individual you might not have the power to keep a person of another race or ethnicity down. On a whole, your race does have that power. Your friends are bigots I guess going by that definition. Just something I heard in a class once.

You're right. All races can be racist. Everyone just picks on the white man because he is the most powerful.

I am from North African country. In my country it is better to be light brown than dark brown. SO my country is also racist against their own people. Even in the family, my sister is darker than me and my brother. They make fun of her and say she cannot find a husband.

Your question is built on a falsehood. Anyone of any racial group can be a racist.
Definition of racism:
“Any distinction, exclusion, restriction, or preference based on race, colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin which has the purpose or effect of nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment, or exercise, on equal footing, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural, or any other field of public life.”

We all make these mistakes.........Some more than others.........Some less than......No one group of peoples anywhere in the world now, or during any other time in history has been immune to this.

It is racist when another race downgrades another, no matter what color or creed you are. I truly do not understand the need for people to feel superior just because of skin color or culture. We are all born equal.

Because bottom line is they are jealous and know we are the best. Not to be arrogant, but if it was not true, words we say would not make people mad. We are above that, so we don't get mad about what they say because we know they are just trying to be what we already are.

White people are not the only racist out there. Other than that, your comment after you question doesn't make any since.
