Are you serious. You have never read anything by Freud. Mothers are closer to their sons and fathers are closer to their daughters by far.
I took my daughter to counseling because I could not do anything with her and they said all daughters are closer to their fathers which was the problem. They admitted it in counseling and said it is a father daughter thing. Ask any counselor, I am serious.

I think mothers are as close to sons as they are daughters but there are just somethings you can do with a daughter that a son wont do like shopping, getting hair done things like that. There are things you can do with a son as well though like bowling or see a movie. But most boys dont want to hang out with there mom, they think someone might say something about them. I have 2 sons and 2 daughters and sometimes my son gets mad and says you always let them do this and that so i find something fun for him to do too. But he is only 10 so its not that hard. My other son is only 3.

Hard question. I have 2 son's, but was raised as a "tom boy" with realistic views of life, basically my decisions are based on logic, NOT emotion, as most of my gender is not. My boys and I have a wonderful relationship. I find it more difficult to deal with other women. I believe it has to do with upbringing more so than a "closeness" between mothers and daughters.

I hope boys are close to their mothers. I have two boys and on adores me and the other, not as much. He's closer to his dad. There's a saying..."A son is a son til he takes a wife, a daughter is a daughter for the rest of her life"

Women are equally close to both their sons and daughters.

But In my experience, as a child turns into a teenager, they usually have most of their problems with the same sex parent.

depends on the age of the child. most chldren are bonded to their mother until their 2 years old or so. after that it's different for each kid but a lot of sons are really bonded with mom until pre teen years and girls are more independent from their moms until teen yearsa nd bond more with dad.
but every family is different.
