Not likely. The paperwork to file for an extension takes much longer than a week. Besides, your drill instructor will tell you... for the next 8 weeks, he'll be your daddy, your momma, AND your counselor! He'll be the only guidance you need!

You may find that BMT is exactly what the Dr ordered.
Go with the flow and pay attention, and you will not have the opportunity to do much worrying. You will be spending time in the sun and there is no better medicine for depression.
Seems like we all have a bunch of unsurmountable problems stack up just before leaving for basic. You will be amazed at how they all seem to just work out while you are in training.

Good luck to ya
BMT is an experience that you will remember for the rest of your life, so make the most of it

I wish I could help,I cant help you with the question as I have no idea how the military works but you should deal with your depression ASAP as it will get worse before it gets any better. I am dealing with drepression right now as well and I did not want to admit that I have it. I went to see the doctor and I tried to cure it myslef but it just got harder and harder, so I was a little reluctant when I went to the doctors to ask him about anti-depressants. Im on the weakest amount right now to start. And they definitley changed my life and really helped me out. I know exactly what you are going through right now and I know how hard it is. I wish the best for you and I hope you are able to get some help before you are shipped out! And be careful!!

Not sure. You may be able to ask your Recruiter if you can delay your entry date.
I will say this, I not know your problems and it not my business.
But, you get into Basics you may not have time to be Depressed. Also, it may help you feel better.
Like I say, I not know your problems. But, when I was in the Air Force I forgot all my troubles.

Take this as a start over point. Forget the rest of the world and concetrate on basic for now. Your problems will still be there when you get out of basic, but you will be prepared to deal with them. For now. Tie up as many lose ends as you can, and the minute you get to San Antonio, forget the rest of the world exists. Do it for yourself. Be the best you can be for a few months.

Shut up or you may disqualify yourself from military service. The Air Force is easy, it's the Boy Scouts of the military.
You'll be fine, you are just getting the pre-basic jitters,it's time to Man-up and go. Your recruiter will lie to you anyway and as i said before you could permanently disqualify yourself if you tell them you need treatment for depression.

Dude, wipe it out of your mind right now and just go. Two weeks into training you'll forget all about the little things that you have over-dramatized as a civilian.

in boot camp etc. Apologize make things right, so you can move forward in your life. Don't let this control you.
