Is it just me or would the world really go absolutly nuts?

i just wanna clear up that i'm in no way in favor of that happening, and i have no hate whatsoever towards islam as a religion. What i hate is the extremism in any form, with no tolerance there can be no happiness.
But i still wonder what might happen

Christianity is the largest religion in the world.
The Pope is the head of the largest faction as well as being a Head of State.
If he happened to be killed by a muslim, there would be no backlash, merely the election of another Pope.
Remember, Pope John Paul II was shot and terribly injured by a muslim, and there was no backlash.

Muslim extremists have gotten away with so many atrocities over the decades..what makes you think that killing the Pope would make any difference? Heck, they just obliterated 3000 people, destroyed billions of dollars worth of property and declared war on the rest of the infidel world...outrage, wrath and vengence would then be perpetrated on who? They are nameless faceless cowards that only come out of hiding to wreck the lives of the worlds citizens...by the way, it has seemed to escape your notice..but the world is already nuts and has been for a long time. The Muslim world would realise that to date they have only dealt with an apathetic, unmotivated version of Christendom which has chosen to fight a media-friendly limited campaign against identified extremists. The unfortunate result would be a full scale escalation of military action and widespread pogroms against vulnerable minorities on both sides.

Here's my take on it..
Religion takes in billions of dollars a year, pays no taxes and always needs a little bit more. God is all seeing, all loving, always there for you but....... he just can't seem to balance a cheque book.
95% of ALL wars ever started were as a direct result of religious differences.
Religeon convinces you there is an invisble man in the sky who watches you and wants you to follow 10 rules. If you break those rules you'll burn forever in damnation, crying out in pain for eternity, he will damn you to the most horrific afterlife known, but......... he loves you..

It might, but it would be hard for him to do that. Most likely they would have to find another way to do such a deed. But then again there are those in this world today that would love to see an absolute chaos in the streets all over.

of course they will immediately elect the next pope. The second will be to beef up the security of pope. next to that will be hunt for the organisation behind the attack and bring it to book.All other religions will assist and cooperate to do justice to the deceased pope.

I think that the Vatican would write a strongly worded letter (in Latin) then realise that there is no central control over the muslims & as a consequence have to bin the letter as there is no one to send it to...except the iranian president perhaps!
